which SOFT SYNTH should i get next?
Re: which SOFT SYNTH should i get next?
Gladiator 2 would be my choice !
Re: which SOFT SYNTH should i get next?
the list of soft synths i mentioned i already have is MASSIVE,SAMPLTANK2.5XL,KORG LEGACY COLLECTION and OPERATOR.
the type of music i play, well, i do play in an 80's cover band (don't laugh).
we cover PRINCE,DURAN DURAN,INXS,ABC, and....and....ok, we do some WHAM (i said don't laugh).
but, i'm looking for a new soft synth for my personal recordings, which is similar to PETER GABRIEL,GO WEST, SEAL...that type of sounding music.

I guess gladiator will suit your needs.
Here's a demo .mp3 from the latest sound upgrade.

upgrade to live 8 suite and get a ton of new toys
i love love love sampler..
collision is fun but i have not played with it as much as i should but i can see that as being a fun sound design tool
electric is pleasantly surprising..
of course operator
and then the rest are on my to do list.
edit- but i also have sylenth1, a mopho, a Triton, and a hammond
it was just a thought i had since you same to have a good selection of soft synths all ready

I agree about the arturia. The CS-80V and the Arp2600 are my favorite go to synths when looking for real analogue sounding warmth or unusual sounds. Definitely not to be overlooked.

i know albino in depth and it was my favourite until i learned how to tame the zebra. it's heavy! but not too heavy on the cpu load. i still don't get the fuzz about operator, i tried it and felt completely crippled. so, yeah zebra ftw.
Re: which SOFT SYNTH should i get next?
man for your style (80's, peter gabriel, etc) you've already got your best secret weapon - the Korg Legacy Digital.
I bet this thread has only confused you more; rule out sonik synth but add on zebra and gladiator as options, haha.
i own gladiator, it's pretty sweat. wonderful big sound. wish I had zebra. but, you know, I wish I had everything.

If you're into analog and 80's type sounds, and you like lots of presets, you should definitely not overlook Arturia's Analog Factory. You can find it on-line for 100 bucks. It includes thousands of presets from the Prophet V, Jupiter 8V, ARP2600 V, Minimoog V, Moog Modular V and CS-80V. Might be a great option for you. Do a search for some videos on it.
Professional Shark Jumper.
Re: which SOFT SYNTH should i get next?
haven't had a chance to use it yet but Image Line's Autogun is free and comes with some 4,294,967,296 presets. the sound you're looking for has to be in there somewhere, right?
I voted for Operator but had they been included, I would've said Blue or Predator.

i'm glad i conducted this poll. because if not, i would have purchased SONIK SYNTH 2.but, now it sounds like no one voted for it.
now i have to go research FM8 GLADIATOR SYNPLANT CS80V ANALOG FACTORY, and the others you all mentioned.
this is great !

Not one mention of Omnisphere ?
I thought that thing could sound like anything...
and then some.

Something I was never really aware of until I bought hardware to use is:
Operator rocks once you have physical knobs to turn and twist to make the different sounds. Until that happened for me I was a preset whore.
