If you are wanting great sounding out of the box sounds, try Zebra2 or Sylenth......download the Zebra demo and play around with it! Both options have great sounding presets.

A lot of the other suggestions are great, if it were me and money wasn't an issue I would probably try something like Omnisphere just because it sounds so different than many other options out by what I've heard in demo sounds.

on my list to get are Zebra, Alchemy, Sub Boom Bass (to round out my collection of Papen's synths. i really like his synths), and if it ever comes out, D-CAM Synth Squad. I already have NI Komplete 5, Blue, Predator, Albino, RG, Cameleon 5000, can't remember anymore at the moment other than the usual free stuff out there. Also looking into complete line up from D16 Group for some old school sounds.

Fxspansion D Cam Synth squad is looking pretty good, don't think it's out yet though.

One synth that surprised me a lot lately is Unique by sugarbytes. Given it's relative simplicity the thing can pump out some pretty cool sounds, and has some cool modulation options.

I was going to mention Omnisphere, but it was not in his original post. FWIW, Omnisphere and Zebra2 are the only synths I own aside from the Live Suite, and I feel I have all my bases covered and then some. I'm also using the Live 8 Suite almost exclusively these days and loving it too.

that's ok, i'm taking suggestions along the way here. i'll check into omnisphere along with all the others mentioned.

i'm amazed at how this forum actually has user participation. i couldn't get answers from any other forum i've been to. lovin' it !

well then, welcome to the forum, it's a wonderful place to be.

also check out the new camel audio synth "alchemy". it's got a randomizer and other stuff that's a bit different from the norm.

but if you love presets i might go +1 on the analog factory. Half the price, get a ton of sounds, since you're not totally focuses on crazy tweaking you'll probably love it.

i don't have either of these, but i'm REALLY good at reading things and wishing i had them. double sigh

I still haven't purchased a new soft synth. i was actually talked out of it from someone in here that PM'd me about how to get more sounds out of my KORG LEGACY COLLECTION.(for some reason that person doesn't want to be mentioned for whatever reason, i don't know).

I've now turned my KLC into my main synth using the POLYSIX !!!
I know it's a very basic synth, all you pros out there, but, i never knew i could create so much with it...turning all the knobs, appegiator, chord button, etc.

thanks again anonymous user !
