Happy birthday. May your year be filled with prosperity, creativity, inspiration.......and plenty of adult entertainment :D
I turn the big 40 on sept.
Funny thing I feel you on the rock revitalization. After a massive 14 year run into dance music....I am having a Manchester shogaze, and space/stoner rock revival. I kind of had delusion of cold calling my old heavy metal badmates from 15 years ago to see if they want a second go around

yep, cash was the biggest difference for me to (I'm 42).

Although I miss the old days, I don't miss being broke all the time.

Make sure your kids doube-pamper you this weekend, it's your birthday AND Father's Day

Hmm well more Jenny Agutter fan actually - still not bad for a woman of a 'certain age' but in Walkabout and Logans Run - phew!

Happy Birthday Russ :)

Not too far behind, I turned 38 in Feb.

Old enough to remember shoe gazing and Madchester as Aisling put in one of his responses, did enough drinking/drugging and decadent living when I was FS's age to ensure I don't need to do any more of it to feel like I lived a full life  Actually, it was touch and go if I would make 25 at one time in my life, but glad I did, I would never have experienced the joy of Ableton !!!

Married life has it's own virtues and comforts but doesn't leave you with a lot of time to go off yachting around the world on a whim, eh GJM ?

... no it doesn't. +1 on the virtues and comforts, at least that is my experience. At 43, I am having to put aside a lot of personal/selfish ambitions to help others (read wife and kids) set out to reach theirs. I don't have much cash (the other issue about this part of life) but I figure if I bank time for people it might come back around.

The funny thing about 40 for me was I stupidly 10 years earlier made a list of all the things I would have accomplished by then. When 40 came around, I could not be further away from those goals. Life is what happens when your making plans, as the saying goes. I had a major adjustment to make in terms of expectations for/of myself. I have benefited from relaxing and going with the flow.

Ahhhh yachting, my absolute fav way to relax. One day..... /big sigh\
