Let's see if I can explain this...
What's a common (logical) way of adding a clip in session mode, where it actually starts out in the last bar of the previous scene?
Looks like something like this:

Does that make sense?

if scene one is playing for a certain amount of time then you could set a blank clip with a follow action

you use the clip start marker its the little right facing arrown in the clip window on the bottom.
dont have loop in the same place obviously have it over the whole clip...hang on ill upload a different image to clarify
`or do as was previously said use following actions.

Thanks a lot for the tips!
So great to have people who already went through this and are willing to share! THANK YOU!
Also discovered that I can insert silence to an audio clip by selecting the clip and the measures before that clip and hitting Command-J to consolidate. This way my clip won't play for the 7 bars out of that 8 that's needed in the scene. Bar 8 is then the "pickup bar" for the following scene -
