YouTube tutorial--Dry/Wet knob for any and all FX chain
Hey there,
The title of this post speaks for itself... Ever have an effect or chain of effects you would like to have a dry/wet knob for but your effect is custom and without the specific knob?
If you have multiple effects you want to cycle thru, you just need more chains in the audio effect rack. This is an easy FX level control.

Enjoy if this is a new idea for you!

Re: YouTube tutorial--Dry/Wet knob for any and all FX chain
why dont you want to pull the fades all the way back each way?
wouldnt that create a more even flow between the 2 chains? and also keep levels even throughout the turn of the knob?
if you create 2 dry chains just for testing sake and fade them like you are in the video at 50% on the knob you will get like 200% gain
but if you fade them all the way to 0 and 127 the level stays equal throughout

Check out the Covert Operators website for a better way of doing this - and a great tutorial called "The Chain Selector Rules!"

Hey dudes! Yer welcome!
zalo,
To answer your question, the reason I did not pull them all the way back was to ensure that my custom dry/wet knob functioned as closely to the ordinary dry/wet knobs on any normal Ableton Live Effect.
The regular effects do not begin dropping the dry until 51+ and the wet does not increase another double as it goes to 100%: the dry reduced from full to zero.
Of course, you can set the level changes however you want. You would have to, perhaps, if you wanted a dry wet knob thru 5 wet chains (each needing a different zone).
Patch, ya, The Covert Operators have taught me something. They are pro's, nice stuff. My advice was stated as for the newbies to Ableton; I'm somewhere between newbie and pro!
Cheers,
