Just tested again, removed every channel in the project except for that one channel, removed all devices, etc. Silent parts sat at 1%, played parts peaked at 14%! This is a dry project, no effects whatsoever. Surely cpu usage should go up that high from just playing audio?

Ok, just consolidated that whole channel and guess what, no spikes! CPU would sit at 6%, peaking at 7% at times. Being consolidated there would only be one fade set on this clip.

Hmm, am I getting somewhere with this? lol

Yep with the new warping mode when a lot of edition is done, consolidate has the cure.
I've especially seen that with pitch mode... the cpu meter can become crazy with such edited clips.
If really I need the pitch mode, in this case I simply consolidate and turn back the resulted clip from beats to pitch mode.
So I can still get tempo up or down with the pitch of the loop that follows bpm.

I know what it is. everyone has been whining that they wish being a Live PA would *help get them chicks*. they misunderstood and thought it was 'clicks'.

I've got a Zalman NC1000 notebook cooler as well - very quiet and well made, unlike some of teh £10 flourescent-lit-hovercraft-like coolers found on E-bay.

Lots of clicking here.. That was never a problem before.. Dropping devices, editing in Arrange, moving things around.. Bad news!! Even with audio buffer @ 512

Hope this gets sorted out quickly and not clickly!!

Things have got clickier for me here since the installation of my Powercore. Running Live 7. Although the Driver Error Compensation trick did help marginally.
