Glitchy electro!

Post by willrjmarshall » Mon Jun 29, 2009 9:46 pm

Hi there,

I'm looking for feedback on my first real composition: which is based originally on the example covered in Tom Cosm's Guide to Digital Audio Production. It's my first track of any substance, and I'd love to hear what I can do better in future.

You can download and listen to it at http://soundcloud.com/willrjmarshall/flay-i

Cheers,
Will.

I like the track, but personally speaking would lay back a bit (or change up) on the sound with the reverb and gating effect IMHO - I think it takes away from some of the other elements of the track (which I like) at times.

Nice work though, the production sounds tight (great bottom end).

Four operators: one sine wave sub-bass and three upper basses.

Reverb, filter with cutoff automation, some chain selector automation and a redux.

Good fun

Nice one. While I'm not generally a big fan of that "pumping effect" on the pad sounds, they sound great in this track. Maybe that's because there is a lot more going on. I would certainly like to listen to this again. Trentemoller would be proud of you!

I tend to think of stuff a bit different to that when I think of "electro".

Veeeeeery cool tune, like it a lot.

I enjoyed it a lot as well, great bassline indeed.

except for the open hat that sounds very cliché, the rest is really good.
