track/time display software for standalone CD player?

Hey there,

Just wondering if anyone knows of a free software program for Mac that will simply display onscreen the track numbers, times, etc. (standard cd player display info) from a standalone cd player with RS232 output?

It would be and extra bonus to actually be able to control the CD player from the computer. Anyone?

what CD player has RS232 outputs? are they for control only or do they run audio through it? very strange.

they're denon cd players and the rs232 output is for remote control. it can also output the track/timing data. just need something that will read and display it on a mac.

ah gotcha. I'd look at the Denon remotes and their knockoffs. maybe consult a radio station production web site or forum, talk to other people who have set up similar things.

I have no clue.
