Damn it all...

Guess it was time to upgrade my old 19" monitor for something larger anyway. Cheers for the heads up!

Did you zoom out using the new zoom function or is it 100%? Looks really small!
Edit: Got it... 85% zoom apparently. :)

Oh man... this is stunning. Just watching the visualizer in iTunes and I was getting flashbacks.

Seriously, the default settings for this monitor are perfect. And Live 8 @ 100% zoom looks great.

PS - Newegg took another $10 off for this weekend only.

When you use the zoom function on this monitor does it lose sharpness? I realize it's more of a graphics card thing but when I zoom anything below 100%, even 99% on my Mac the crispness of the clips and fonts are gone. :(

Otherwise, I want a monitor like that right now!!!!

At 85%, some things in Live are indeed a slight bit blurry...the Library text, mainly. But getting all that screen real estate, and then having the screen big enough to zoom out to 85% is totally worth it, and easily livable. I turned the contrast up to compensate for the blur. But I'm already used to this, and I get a shitload of screen real estate!!

Thanks! Yeah the real estate you got is amazing, especially for $300!!!!!

This seems like a great deal, thanks! I am also a Costco member, so I will have to look out for these in the future.

I just got an excellent deal on one of a Samsung 2443BWT Matte Black 24" 5ms Widescreen LCD and a free wall mount for $250 USD altogether. I deeply regret not buying a second or third one at the time.

I honestly can't imagine how nice it must feel to work with 28" of real-estate, but once Max for Live comes out, I promise you that you will be using it all 8)

I can only find this in the UK for about £280 cheapest (and £306 on Amazon).

I've been looking at the Samsung T240 24" instead, as it's on offer at £230. I'm kinda concerned that the screen might be a bit glossy though. If I like it, I might buy another one in the future and have a dual monitor setup if I need the extra screen space.

I'm kinda scared by big monitors - I tried out the 30" Cinema Display in the Apple store recently and it was insania. I'd probably end up with every eye disorder known to man.

Well, that's it: now they have to make a bigger APC40.

Damn, I was going to look as well. I already have a very nice Viewsonic 20" (vx2025wm) but 1680x1050 is starting to feel limiting as my Live projects get larger and larger (thank goodness I've gone over to Win7 64bit). Really need to replace this old Terratec Phase 22, too. Desperate to get an Audiofire 4!

Nebulae, your screenshots sold me more than the newegg page!

Trouble is, at that price, I was wondering about quality. I also dabble in some Paint.NET projects so based on AV Forum's postings about it, I'm put off.

Still, at that price, people that are desperate for the real-estate, go for it!

'Tis tempting, Neb, but upgrading to an Audiofire 4 is higher priority...
