Hey There,
I'm currently using Ableton 7 and am trying to grab the MIDI data from a VST apreggiator. Has anyone been able to do this? So far I have tried it with Nexus and Zebra by opening 2 MIDI tracks, dropping the VST in the first one and then piping the midi into the second one via the MIDI from on the second track. Problem is the MIDI data I am getting in the second track is not arpeggiated. I know this works with the built in arpeggiator in Live but would like to use something more customizable. Does anyone know any VST's that this does work for or maybe a specialized VST just for arpeggiating? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Matt

you do not get the arped notes b/c it is all internal. it seems to be a thing that most vsts do. i do not know a way around it

But you can do this easily with the arpegiator midi fx from ableton live.
Then you'll have midi notes recorded

Re: Grabbing MIDI Data From VST Arpeggiators
i think it depends on the plug. just make sure you have a midi tracked armed and set the input to the 1st midi track sending the arped midis.
and yeah, lives onboard midi effects work fine this way. do it all the time.

if the vst you're using does actually output its midi, then just make sure to set the receiving midi track to 'post fx'
