Why dont alot of people browse List Your Music Thread?

Because every wants and expects people to listen to THEIR music, but few people are willing to reciprocate and listen to other's - partially because the quality is mixed, but also because we are basically selfish. I include myself in this, I have only listened to maybe 40 tracks on that forum in nearly 3 years, and only commented on about 18 of those.

So then people start stepping up the self promotion by posting in the General Forum.

it takes a few seconds to read a post, it takes a few minutes to listen to a tune.

At first i would listen to the whole first page of songs posted.
But, to be honest, all the songs sounded the same to me. i got bored. all instrumental electronic based songs,no vocals anywhere.Well, there have been a few with vocals,but, not enough.

Where's the heavy metal songs recorded with Live?
Where are the pop songs WITH vocals recorded with Live?
Where are any vocals on any songs recorded with Live?

If there was a wide range of different songs, i would be browsing the List Your Music Thread all the time.

i would drop serious feedback on 10 tunes and then they dont reciprocate. so now i barely touch it. its not about being GOOD. its about getting good criticism so you can be better at mixing and writing.
I don't care if you think my song sucks but be specific on how it sucks.

Agreed with the fact that it takes longer to listen to a tune and give feedback than it does to check out posts in the General forum. However, still think it would be nice if more people commented but that's human nature so there you are.

When I post a tune, I spend a few days hanging out in Link Your Music, listening and giving feedback. For me, it has to have the genre in the thread title or be by somebody who has given me feedback before, then I'll automatically check the tune out. Oh, it also has to be by somebody who hasn't posted shit in the General forum that winds me up, so that's a few people crossed off my list already.

yes, i don't respect that section, respectively i am not interested! If someone wants me to listen to a track he needs to post it into the general section, i hate the deviding of the forum, except beta and bugs, i ignore anything not posted into the general section.

I agree with the fact that so many of us create tracks without vocals, and for along time i thought ok maybe a lot of you are just posting tracks up demoing your sound and later adding vocals.? If its a dance track I could understand and majority of them are. (problem)

Sometimes I think a lot of you are way to serious for what this really is about.

I'll give the benefit of the doubt.

~Categorizing tracks posted would solve a lot of problems. People could start forming more defined groups of similar interest's collectively have remixes in that specific genre, and generally know where to go.

I've recently posted probably the last tune for feedback on this forum and ALDJ. I've had no feedback on them so I figured people here don't appreciate the style of music. No biggie though, I'll still make tunes but just won't bother posting them here or on ALDJ anymore.
