dang. so which of these should I choose? I don't know much about mastering but this seems like a good, cheap, legit way to learn.
Re: IKMM's T-Racks Singles GB now 5 for 1+CSR!! 6 for 1 reached!
Yeah, 3 free ones, but once esoundz' counter hit 600, by Monday (8/10/2009), they threw in the construction packs as a bonus! So, nothing to choose. Just simply go to your download section on esoundz and you will see all the loop packs that you get for free. Pretty cool deal.Ed J wrote:eh? They've also said that they are considering another bonus if it reaches 1000 at esoundz before the group buy is over. Sounds good to me either way.
I've still not downloaded anything... there's just too much that it looks time consuming (but i'm not complaining about free stuff.... I'm just being lazy).
Re: IKMM's T-Racks Singles GB now 5 for 1+CSR!! 6 for 1 reached!
man, it is sooooo hard to ignore this offer!
The marketing team did miracles
The point is ... do i really need these plugins?
Everyone is talking about crazy quality etc
I know the price is ridiculous and this is not the point.
I NEED to go less atm (live - 2 synths, some good free plugs and some good dynamics)
I said ill stop buying new except if we are talking for something reeeeeeally excellent
and this is my question about the t-racks ... how excellent they are?
can we say for example
Ozone 4 <-> a selection of 5 t-racks
Oxford eq <-> Linear phase EQ
Xenon(psp) <-> Brickwall limiter
Vintage warmer (psp) <-> Vintage Tube Compressor/ Limiter Model 670
you know what i mean..

It's time consuming alright, at 60Kb/s it will probably take 2 days to get it all. I hope they bump the speed up, but I guess they wont.elxicano wrote:I've still not downloaded anything... there's just too much that it looks time consuming (but i'm not complaining about free stuff.... I'd say you don't "need" it. Just novelty, really.IP wrote: can we say for example

None of this is really comparable, as the stuff you're comparing is not modelled after specific vintage equipment.
I don't personally like Ozone'e EQ much but I'd say it's metering is great and as a bundle against the 5 classic plugins in t-racks it's about equal.
But Oxford eq and Xenon limiter are quality products.
This is an interesting test. I think the tester could have employed some different sound sources, for example if I was going to use a Fairchild, it excels at drum buss work, rather than a weedy sounding semi-acoustic guitar loop. BUt what it shows is that the T-racks plugins are not as neutral, they add harmonic content - which is either a good thing or a bad thing, depending on what you need.

What drives me crazy is that i cant run any of the t-racks demos on my system (win7/AL7)
Live cant see them.
i could make some tests and compare some things (just to have a personal opinion about what is all about) :/
A setup with
1. Live 8 suite (for averything)
2. Absynth (for weird sounds and endless envelopes)
3. Sylenth (for the fat shit)
4. T-racks offer (dont forget the CSR hall which is excellent in my opinion. the only thing i have tried from Ik before)
5. Some really great free plugins from TAL, Ohm force, SSL etc
could be a perfect (can i say minimal?) complete production solution for me!
Now i only have to find a way to demo t-racks

ahem.
just playing with the esoundz free sample packs, and tbh I'm not really sure they were worth the £12 I paid to have them. (could have just got the t-racks for cheaper on JRR)
in particular, the 'asian' samples may be the most piss-poor thing I've ever heard, one of the guitar riffs has a mistake in for christ's sake, and that's not to even think about the vocals. . . I feel violated.

Really? Not worth a DL then?
I can't be arsed if they're shit, I only planned to chop them and mash them anyway.

I'm surprised, but not shocked, to hear that the packs are shite. I really love the "World Grooves"
RAW pack, but I guess they aren't giving away their best ones for free...
Anyway - I'd like to give a shout out to IK's support; they cleaned up the mess I created by
selecting the same plugin two times, effectively wasting a licence. So now, if I can get my
Internet connection back up and running at home, I'll be the happy user of all ten plugs, plus
the reverb
