Thanks - just starting it up!

But just my usual small request: please build in a small check to see what instruments I have purchased before the installer installs loads of instrument libs that I don't need as I haven't purchased the instruments.

It might help encourage the uptake of beta versions if users knew that they were getting fast, slim installations. I'm annoyed each time I install a beta and have to sit and watch as it installs Analog, Collision, Electric libs, even though I don't own these instruments.

Thats all , Akai Support and 1 bug? How many betas yet? After 2 months of betas, when we get the final? Its a longer beta periode for 8.04 to 8.05 than the 8.00 beta periode.
I dont work with a beta software.

Another try;

PLEASE make the spacebar visible to (MIDI, keyboard, other?) so we can control stop/start with an FS-6 in the APC-40 (or other controller)

WTF ??????

WHY NOT ??????????

+1. The check thing is a good idea. It wouldn't be so bad if it was a few betas.

are we Live 8 owners or are we Live 8 beta testers?

Ableton this is too much. get your act together and fix the important stuff that is hindering people from using the software live ... crashes and clicks and bugs that render it useless for Live musicians, but you put up another beta for 1 goddamn fix?

it just goes to show that your decision making strategy sucks.
it never ends. neither does it begin where you think it does. its only in your mind.

You guys crack me up. You complain when the software doesn't work. You complain when testing is thorough. Ableton can't win.

+1. But I think that the "beta" period for 8.0.5 is starting to look like a joke. What's going on? I upgraded but stick to Live 7 due to the fact that Live 8 is still in beta. And I see a whole new everlasting beta period coming just to get things officially supported on Windows 7... which it isn't according to the support department. Windows 7 RTM is out, ready and rocking. Live 8 is not.

I would never have complained if the real beta period had lasted
much longer. A company that says "it's not ready yet" has my support
in beta testing and my respect for being honest and accurate.
But releasing an unfinished product, letting the people pay and
then going back to beta for months (since march, all the 0.x releases
were more or less betas, too !)...
If 8.0.5beta9 was the "real" beta45 everybody would ask "when will
it be released", but nobody would complain and feel ripped off
like many people do now. An early release is an advantage for
NOBODY but Ableton because the money comes in early !

I complain when the software does work, just to keep ableton on their toes.

It's not looking good tbh. I'm on windows 7 and had been having major major problems with Live 8 which seemed to worsen with each new beta :!: so in a last ditch before buying a new laptop i tried 7 and it's absolutely fine. I thought it was the os which maybe it is but either way there seems to be serious bug with L8 although i've read of several people running L8 on win7 without issue. If win7 is released in october i hope ableton is working on the bugs. I know they are taking bug reports for 7 so i'll keep running it and checking out L8. I'm done with the betas for now though; i was only trying to find a working version so i'll wait for 8.05 and submit any bugs i find. Until then i'm sticking with 7.
