That's great - a lot of shallow surface must be ergonomically great. I just have a deep antique desk which looks great, but you're forever leaning over too far to get at stuff. I shall start looking for an antique version of your cool DIY desk...HiEnergy wrote:I posted a description of my studio desk here: http://www.livepa.org/board/viewtopic.php?p=39364#39364
It's completely do-it-yourself, you won't find at Ikea.
Essentially it's made out of a 260cm wide work board for the kitchen.
stay tuned

from what i've seen... why not just modify your existing desk... with a sort of add-on bit to raise stuff that is located in the back... like HiEnergy did?8O wrote:That's great - a lot of shallow surface must be ergonomically great. does not even have to be wood, why not a mix and some parts out of a sexy metal... or something... could do your genelecs well, too... they are fussy about placement, and you will gain a lot more performance out of them.

Yeah, I was thinking about that, but I think I prefer to keep my desk as a desk and think of something much more purpose-designed for the audio stuff... I need to move apartment anyway...SubFunk wrote:from what i've seen... why not just modify your existing desk... with a sort of add-on bit to raise stuff that is located in the back... like HiEnergy did?

Dead cheap, very sturdy construction and space for lots of devices.

Hi guys and gals... here's my really, really small studio.. its just about the size of a phone box, and i love it. Makes it cozy at night and exactly what i need.
In this studio i make mostly deep and progressive house, but also some remixes of other styles.....
Equipment:
Hardware: Macbook Pro 2,4Ghz 4GB, 24" screen, Novation Remote Zero SL, Akai MPD32, Yamaha 01X, Native Instruments Maschine, E-Mu Xboard 25, Pretty crappy Creative speakers and Sennheiser Headphones.
Software: Ableton Live 8 w Sampler, Reason 4, Native Instruments Massive, Absynth, FM8, Pro-53, Maschine, Kore and Kontakt + Loads of sample collections.
Comming in soon: Motu BPM
