Saving VST settings

Hi, I'm using a 3rd party synth plug-in. I want to save an "acid bass" version with different settings than the default version. I've tried saving it to the vst folder in plug-ins but I'm unable to retrieve the new "acid bass" version. How and where do I save this "acid bass" version? Thanks.

build an instrument rack with your control settings and save this rack.
