Jesus!!!!!!

I can do a wheelie for 3 white lines..... :(
that's funny. as kids all over the world we all measured wheelies the same way, the width of parking lot spaces.

...yeah, that one at the end is incredible... I was waiting to see the smoke coming from the tyre and then a catastrophic blowout...

nice!

I've been riding clipless for the last few years, not as much confidence for doing three line wheelies. what I want are 'campus' pedals which are platforms with SPD cleats, so I can run clipless or clipped. I think I'd fall on my ass pedaling platforms.

I ride clipless on the road bike, but usually flats on the mtn bike. Too many crazy stunts here for me to run clipless down the hills. That and a few years ago I was nailed by a soccer mom driving a minivan, and tore a bunch of tendons in my ankle. The exact ones I use to clip out, easy enough to do onthe road when I have time, not so much trying to avoid a tree.

The aftermath:

oh man...

never really been hit before, it'll be my turn someday. I try to keep these stories in mind when I ride. I almost got hit last week, the fuqr's hood was under my left handlebar, I could feel the engine heat on my leg.

what happened? it's good to learn from others.

Hey Tarekith , Tone

I got hit once on my old road bike by a car coming around a corner (cutting me off without indicating...ignoring my lights)

I luckily saw it coming and i put my weight on pedal on the other side from the oncoming car.

The car collected me by the back derailleur just as it was coming to a stop.

Luckily , i just slid with it , hopped off and got away with a slightly bent back derailleur.

I was on the way to a gig , so i just yelled something and kept going.

It kind of made me think that when your number is up , you are going to get nailed.

I ride to all my gigs , don't have a car.

n-do

Tarekith, did the van take your seat too? Or did you just put in on a new bike.

Dude, sweet bike, truly.

But why only a front brake?

I'm just imagining small children and things running infront of you :)

I figure this is good place to post this. My latest song was a tribute to a dear friend who was killed two weeks ago while bicycling in New York City. It's called The Bicycle Philosopher:

a rear brake would just be redundant
