I rewire Numerology into Live quite a bit. I only have one monitor, but it would be really useful to have two when using Rewire'd applications.

i have a 26" for Live and a smal (15 or 17 dunno) 2nd display for VSTs and the Nocturn GUI and I think it rules. When I find an old 1024 x 1200 rectnagular I'm going to use that as the 2nd display, take 4 screws off on the back (standard on most LCDs) and use it vertical!

I'm running Live fullscreen on external monitor (22"). All VSTs/AUs will open on the laptop's display. That's a perfekt setting for me. Don't wanna miss it.

My strict separation of Live and VST screens allows the Laptop to be on my side board (not beside the monitor).

Thats nearly identical to the way I use my laptop and second monitor;

I have my BCR2k (In mackie mode) in the same place with laptop screen used to display Huskervu LCD window , plug-ins and folders etc...

The stretched over two screens effect doesn't look so cool with different sized screens ...

I also use my second monitor for 3rd party vst, cool thing is I don't need to close them, and it only shows the plugins for the track that's selected, so no need to move the plugins around (which is why I like Live in the first place).
That's enough 2nd screen support for me. And I find it keeps things tidy at the same time.

I know others would like to have arrange and session on different screens, but at least it's only those two views and not dozens like in cubase et al.

I stretch Live across 2 screens, and with that the benefit of 2 monitors is probably less. But I will have Reason Rewire on one side (usually over less important tracks or hiding some arrangement track real estate. I've been thinking of just going to one bigger monitor because the separation of the monitors (when stretching Live) can confuse (when I miscount tracks--especially noticeable now with my use of the APC 40).

i stretch aswell. its great, but im gonna upgrade to a big screen some day instead, and use a smaller one for whatever else shit i can think of. i tend to multitask anyways.

If you have a laptop and an additional screen is it possible to make it so that each screen displays something different so it acts like 2 screens?

Becuase one day in the far distant future we might actually be able to open the session view on one monitor, the arrange view on another :)

Then Ill have to get another monitor for my VSTs.

+1

I didn't see a lot of benefit, especially as I move closer and closer to Live as my only solution. So that's why I got one big ass monitor and got rid of my two smaller ones.

Got a 28 inch for $300, and running Live at 1900x1600 res.
