expandable audio/midi effects window!
it would be pretty useful if you drag the side of the effects window just as if it was a midi or audio clip window and it would expand to twice or more its size, cos now it can get pretty intimidating if working on a complex rack. it would be much better to see effects in 2 or 3 rows.
same way like reasons rack got expanded with record, but in lives case effects would be chained horizontally.
with expandable effects window wed see
effect1 -> effect2 -> effect3 -> effect4
from effect4 -> effect5 -> effect6 etc
instead of
effect1 -> effect2 -> effect3 -> effect4 -> effect5 -> effect6 etc
and lets say the effects window has 3 rows [ 3 rows would be the maximum cause 1 row of effects takes approximately 1/3 of the display size ] and there are more effects than 3 rows can show, why not put a scroller to the side of it so the rows would be vertically scrollable.
1 -> 2 -> 3 -> 4 ˆ
5 -> 6 -> 7 -> 8 |
9 -> 10 -> 11 -> 12
13 -> 14 -> 15 -> 16
17 -> 18 -> 19 -> 20 ?
that way live will have its current horizontal effects layout and a vertical layout mode that will get activated when effects window gets expanded. more room for effects, faster to tweak and navigate.
