Sampler Timestretching Racks for Live 7 & 8

Thought this might interest some of you who want time stretching in Sampler.

Unlike other workarounds, this one doesn't use any of Sampler's usual mod sources (LFOs, MOD ENV etc). Instead, the Sample Offset parameter is controlled by the Velocity and Arpeggiator devices.

The crapily-monikered 'VeloStretch' comes in 2 versions, both available in the .zip link below. 'VeloStretch DR' is a drum rack that's designed to be used as a Slicing preset (drop it in Library/Defaults/Slicing), and 'VeloStretch' is the Sampler instrument rack.

glad you like. i'm pretty chuffed with the 'fwd/rev' function, to be honest (felt like a real smartarse when i figured how to do it). it acts like a scrub dial of sorts, so you can scan through the sample, and freeze the sample when the dial is set to 64.

make an infinite c3 note, load a song into sampler and slowly drag the end loop from the start to the end, and have it speed up and get all stuttery like the beginning of daft punk alive album

very cool. just spent a couple hours lost in sample world again. velostretch is cool. at least as cool as the time i saw ol Boozy at a strip club in florida.

i recorded a 10 sec pitch glide from c0 to c8 then threw it in, messing with grainsize and fwd/rev creates the engine sound from pole position
