Post pics of your Ikea studio furniture...

Post by Verbal » Tue Oct 06, 2009 1:23 am

Please post pics of your Ikea studio desk. Preferably something that's still available.

I'm looking for a new desk and I need to go the cheaper route. Ikea has some nice options and you can build your own desk if needed. Just want to see what you guys have done with yours.

Ikea?

Normaly just go there for the meat balls....

...The usual Ikea vist for Mr. & Mrs. Tong consists of a long drawn out row about nothing in particular that blots out the very memory of the actual shopping experience and leaves one stood outside staring blankly in shock in the car park holding nothing but a bag of tea lights and throw for the couch.

This is my ikea shrine, although I've added an APC40 since then, so I've had to shuffle things around a little, oh I also added a nice ikea chair:

The main desk is a vika ammon combo (I think that is what they are called, really cheap anyway) and I use 2 Dave Laptop stands for the side gear. I made the rack in the center out of spare Ikea melamine panels that you can usually buy in their damaged/clearance section... out of shot there is also another White cabinet/table that has my turntable and also houses my printer on the lower shelf.

Two weeks ago I placed this one in my studio:

Solsta

I put an off-white Bomull over it as I don't like the color of the couch that much. There's no other color available.

With printer shelves on both sides for my monitors.

It goes by the funny name of 'Jerker'.

Two Rast bedside tables convertyed into racks, with a homemade caster platform underneath. The desk is the table top with the little glass section for a light table. The legs are these pyramid shelf things. It works well. I had to cut part of the desktop off to make it fit in my little nook properly:

The records & dj rig are in an Ikea bookshelf... the name escapes me. Should be obvious when you check out the catalog/store. It's an 8 section bookshelf that sits horizontally on the floor. Perfect size and height for club-style decks, a mixer, & laptop. Here's a pic from my last apartment:
