Ultra Analog @ audiomidi.com for $15

Post by elxicano » Tue Oct 13, 2009 8:26 pm

New "no-brainer" deal at audiomidi.com

http://www.audiomidi.com/Ultra-Analog-V ... 12692.aspx

I may be picking this up even though I have Analog that came with the suite.

that is a tempting deal. i already have Analog, so i looked at the differences and decided to share:
UltraAnalog has delay, chorus, reverb and an arppegiator. Everything else looks that same. Does anyone have both? Does it sound the same minus the effects?

I just caved and picked this up... I'll start A/B comparing soon.

@jamief... They're not going out of business (AFAIK), but audiomidi.com has been so far successful at getting some ridiculous deals going (previous they had PSP Nitro for $10 and Antares Mutator for $10). They also have an audiomidi version of Breverb for just $4.99.

All of the deals have been followed by decent upgrade deals to other bundles. I imagine we'll see something similar for a bundle of AAS stuff soon.

EDIT...

Some other things that could entice someone who also owns the Live/AAS version... You also get a standalone version, which can record. Maybe not the greatest feature for everyone, but that's something I like as I tend to prefer working on sound design stuff in stand alone modes instead of in a host.

There are also additional preset banks on the Applied Acoustics page: http://www.applied-acoustics.com/products/
Each bank is $39, so not exactly cheap, but at least you know another resource is available.

Thanks, got it right away.I also prefer standalone for sound design.
P.S. checked the Breverb as well but Europeans are excluded from the offer.

I'm tempted. I have the suite, but would prefer the plug-in version. Then I can load in Kore. Also the interface of the AAS version is much nicer, you can see everything at once.

I've A/B'd and they are of course identical except for the effects. But the effects are good! Try A/B'ing with a patch that uses the ultra analog chorus compared to the same patch with analog and ableton's chorus. Very different!

I've also been thinking that I'd love to get string studio as well. I prefer that interface as well. Come on 15$ string studio!

yeah - + the fact that you can record CCs to clips in session!

I might do it

I like analog's sound, but the interface annoys me
