Good news... I just talked with the guys at Novation tech support and they say that they will release an official automap template for use with the Zero MkII and 25 SL MkII within the next couple of weeks.

Just to let you know there is going to be an Automap Live template in the next few weeks however we are waiting on Ableton for their latest update.
Hope this clears up any issues with you.

Good riddance

Has novation delivered of their promise yet?
I just got my SL MK2 49 and I'll already sick of changing out of automap mode.

Yes, I want to see in FX and INST and MIXER groups some ableton effects or ableton instruments like I see my VST !!!

WOW
That's a great idea - having the ableton instruments appear in the automap 'menu' (ie hit "inst" then you see "operator, analog" etc. in the display on the SL)
And YES! I can confirm that ableton (8.1.3) and Automap (3.4.1) do work in harmony, the "mixer" key does let you use ableton's mixer and there are fairly involved instructions which allow you to control more than just the volume etc.
But it could still use a LITTLE tweaking

To me, the Nocturn is an orphan product. Using automap pro 3.4.1 with Live 8.09, I get all kind of inconsistencies : some of the control mappings are lost when i reopen the set, the values I set before closing change,... I have to check all my setings before starting to work and that's not the way this product was supposed to work.

@ Madlab:
You need to 'save' the automap presets I think (I mostly use the Automap Midi - endless CC's and midi channels for personal mappings

but not automatic

)
If you bring automap into focus, click "file" "save" up the top (mac) and save your current setup, at LEAST you can load it again if it fails to automatically load up.
@ Everyone:
I take back what I said, I'm sorry, hitting the mixer key DOES NOT seem to work the ableton mixer... It musta been a nice dream I was having
But there was some functionallity added that works kinda-well... can't remember the specific's right now, but there's a big webpage describing how it all works now... very detailed...
but now that I've been using it as a plain ol' midi controller for almost a year I'm quite used to doing it this way and may never use the automap to it's full capacity...

I did save my preset for a particular set I use for a theater work. But then I have to re-open it each time I open the set ? Can someone clarify this point ? I thought the assignments were supposed to be saved with the set.

Something like that... I often find when using traktor with my Zero SL MkII as the controller I have to re-load the settings file now and again... it does seem kinda glitchy, I don't perform live as yet, just beginning, but I can see your frustration.
I think it'd be a thing more for the novation forums than the ableton ones though, it's nocturn and automap specific, not to do with live...
They're quite helpful over there

And I'll probably look into it too, seems like I'll run into the same issues sooner or later!
P.S. - one more thing I just remembered... The settings made in automap must be saved in automap... They are definitely NOT saved within live itself. (or within any other DAW, they are specifically automap settings)

Does solo work as it should?
Could you post a link to instructions which helped? I have followed

but to no avail.

That guide refers to the nocturn where i'm using an SL MkII...
With the SL MkII you can get "automap mixer" working in abes by doing the following:
Install latest Ableton
Install latest Automap
In automap click "DAW setup guide"
Select "Ableton SL MkII.PDF" - which will be in the \Ableton Live\SL MkII folder
Follow these instructions - included are diagrams for the SL MkI and MkII telling you what buttons control what (for eg, pressing and HOLDING the preview button will allow you to change the function of some buttons, like a "Shift" button)
Check out the help file... worked for me
Oh, but yeah, obviously it'll be different if you have a nocturn, NOT able to help with nocturn-only stuff, sorry
BTW - solo is not an option in automap mixer as far as I know, so no, it doesn't work....
I don't actually use automap mixer myself... I've just set up a lot of manually mapped pages of midi controlls and have a few templates I use in live with corresponding mappings

Works best for myself...
