don't think so.. first of all before apple bought emagic, emagic had been steadily losing customers, mostly to Sonar and DP, but also to nuendo and those that anticipated CubSx. but mostly from Sonar. Logic has no flow, and has lost the popularity it gained through its nerdy appeal. it got popular back in the day because of all the nerdy electronic music type celebrities who made it popular, in every magazine they always said i write my tracks in logic and then dump them into protools bla bla blah.
but see protools is losing steam also, people are wising up and learning that you don't have to use something that looks so complicated like logic to be cool, or considered a true electronic recording artist. It's main draw
was midi, but everybody knows now that the midi protocol sucks, and is outdated and useless, that's why programs like Abletons Live, and Acid, and recycle have been increasingly popular, and programs like Sonar, Sx, and Dp have very strong audio syncing capabilities. programs like Live really are the future, no doubt about it.
As usual APPLE is on the lateshow, buying emagic won't do anything but blow smoke up the butts of those glossy eyed mac users who pay more attention to the name on the box than the value inside. Pc users have long since gotten over that, the benifits of an open technological society compared to a closed one, which is the apple/jobs way of doing things.
just look at the performance test for an example.
technology, both hardware and software is among the cheapest of commodities in existence today, there is no reason for Apple to have to make money off the backs of their customers by charging so much, that old saying "you get what you pay for" does not apply to technology. electronic parts are super cheap as is the labor.
to be succesful you have to be willing to grow and evolve, so Apples got logic now, big deal logic was on it's way out. Logic would never have travelled away from its midi roots or complicated structure hence the name"logic", but that is not the direction that the young innovative budding
creative artist are going in. 10 years ago things would have been different

those who are not in the know should do more research. software and platform bashing is silly. there are some wicked producers that are using the new Cubase SX... (yes, it has the logic audio engine)...

Cubsx may have logics engine, but that is not the point, the point is it doesn't have it's interface or philosophy. which is the reason logic is losing
users. you could adapt a porshe engine to run inside a minivan, and over charge for it, but no one would buy it. minivans don't feel, handle, or drive
like porshes.
maybe this concept is lost on the less organic of us.
and to the gentleman who made the racist "Joke" some things aren't funny
and maybe somebody is laughing at your friends while watching them laugh at themselves.
