Cheers for the info on the controller.

I'm going to download the demo over the weekend and have a play with Stutter Edit.

It's pretty weird that parameters etc cant be assigned to knobs and that everything is just triggered with keys. Maybe it'll make more sense when I have a play with it.

I feel like the master filter is bullshit because it makes my stuff clip EVERY time I use it, along with half of the effects..

The gesture length thing is handy but I really wanted to be able to map out a simple GRID knob or something like that but I guess not...

Here's the reply I received from iZotope regarding automation not being available to the host:

"We have been carefully following the comments here and elsewhere about host automation and we wanted to assure you that we are listening and will consider this seriously for future versions. There are many ideas on the table here about how to open up more individual control of modules in future versions. But for now we encourage you to work within the design limits of the plug-in, because you can really do amazing things without automating anything.

We decided very early on that host automation would be minimal (at least for version 1.0). Stutter Edit is self-automated. The whole plug-in revolves around Gestures, which are scenes of effects linked to MIDI notes that automate on their own timelines. While it might seem limiting at first glance, this is actually very flexible and allows you to make complex sounds that would be annoyingly time consuming to make using traditional automation (and that you might not even think of otherwise).

However, by design, there are currently 3 things you can automate (using a MIDI track) in Stutter Edit: Switching Gestures (MIDI key presses), Timeline Override (mod wheel by default) which lets you manually control the timeline of a Gesture, and the Global Filter (pitch wheel by default). Even though we’ve kept it simple for now, these 3 things open up a huge range of possibilities by themselves.

It is surprising how much you can do with the simple concept of gestures and timelines, there is a huge range of sounds you can get by just switching between gestures and recording the result as MIDI. So before you decide you need more automation to be happy, we recommend spending an hour playing with the demo, because we really think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

I hope they don't mind I copy/paste the reply here for everyone's benefit. Haven't tried the demo yet so I can comment one way or the other, I've been working on finishing a sampling project right now. But I'm interested to try it out at at least sometime next week.

They need to fix that filter it FREAKS out every time I use it, it peaks like crazy and it hits those certain frequencies that are just horrible

+1. IMO The Q setting of the master filter is too high. Too resonant for my taste.

57 pounds. I'd buy for this price but I'm not sure if I can from outside Europe even though it's digital download. I will try later but I've already heard it doesn't from outside Europe. If not I'm hoping some kind European here might help me out if I paypal the money.

Eek... that's quite a nice deal. That's dangerous impulse buy territory. I wasn't that bothered at first until I saw the crazy stuff Richard Devine has been doing with it. Seem's a heck of a lot more powerful than the youtube clips on their site.

I tried the demo and It is too expensive for what it is. I will wait for a price drop of about 50 percent.

Link is legit just spoke with them on phone. Placing my order now even although on my first impression stutter edit looks shit. I love love the AFx twin but his stuttery stuf is 15 years old now and i have no wish to try and emulate him.
But there is so much activity about the plugin on hear for that price well ive joined the club. Caved in

Balls! Just gone to buy it and it's changed price to £89. Must have been an error or been ex vat.
