Aye, it's a cool little room and is where I spend 99.9% of my at home time. Decent neighborhood as well, would never geuss its in Baltimore City.
I kind of wish I had painted it brighter colors. It's fine during the day but at night it gets dark in there, just kind of swallows up the light.
My wife tried to talk me out of the colors, but I was into the dark thing at the time. Hopefully we will be buying a home later in the year and the decor for the studio room will be bright and full of light and plants and stuff.
Color is important, at least if you're trying to do some psychedelic stuff. Plants--good idea. My son would get into the dirt and spread it all over the floor. I just got some good oriental rugs--that helps. Now I've gotta get a big enough desk. I could use some curtains (rather than the metal shutters). I've even got a bar in the room!!! Good not to be that far from a refill. I think my wife is going to set a limit when I try to hang up foam on the walls.
Baltimore has some good neighborhoods. You might be further from the power grid if you move a bit south--Annapolis?

Don't listen to that crazy old Adam Jay

- those lines you see are nothing more than the regular old lines coming into our house, and the lines of the telephone poles across the street.
No power grid here thank god.
As far as moving south, Annapolis seems like a nice little town. We are thinking on a much grander scale though as we are currently looking into migrating to New Zealand.....
It would be quite some time before we could pull it off but perhaps one day......

I was joking about the power grid.
I do some work in Baltimore.
New Zealand--that's a migration. The land of Frodo and Gandalf!

Current setup. Note the lack of a mixer between the turntables... You can use an Electrix EQ Killer as a mixer in a pinch - if ya wanna know how, just ask.
Also, take a looksee at the extreme left - most of it's not in the pic, but in a gig case with the MOTU 828 there's a Waldorf Micro Q, a 4 unit 19" DJ mixer, and a TC electronic finalizer.
Monitors are Tannoy Proto-J passives, powered by a 60 watt NAD amp. Not powerful, but I live in an apartment so I can't go loud anyways.
