I shipped back my first Push that I bought online and got my refund because it was bugging me too much.
Bought a new one at local GC last week so I could return it easily if I had any problems this time, but this one is soooooo much better (at least to me).
It's obviously not perfectly consistent and the none of the pads really look "white" if used in a dark room but I'd much rather it have a closer to uniform pink hue than random chicken pox  . Kind of weird how the first one had some pads that really did look almost "white" while the second doesn't really have that look at all.

before I do this though, can someone explain how I attach an image please, cheers
Go to http://imgur.com/, make an account, upload your photos, then use "[img]" brackets on the URL's it gives you to show in your posts :)

Sorry to hear about yours. If it really makes you unhappy like my first one did I would return it if it will only be a 1-2 week wait and then get something locally. This probably depends where you live and how available they are.

thanks, here's mine

as you can see quite similar to a lot of the other examples in this post
I think I should probably also forward it to Ableton customer support, although am expecting to receive the standard response

hopefully weight of numbers will make them realise that this (for many people) is unacceptable

Just wanted to chime in here, got my PUSH last night, certainly have some color issues, looks pretty similar to most of them in here.

Not as bad as some, not as good as some others.

I've posted this elsewhere. My latest email from Ableton was that their deveolpers are working to a soluyion to the matter and are extending my return period till they either have a solution or have determined it's not fixable via software/firmware.

They stated that they should know by the end of august and will contact me when they know one way or another.

I'm holding off till then.

In actual use, the color doesn't bother me a huge amount, but when I see videos of a a push that the white is actually white, I do get annoyed big time.

I can't really see why they wouldn't be able to give us the ability to do custom white balancing, somewhere inside the push is some code telling it how to display white and the various other colors, that code has got to be accessible some how or another.

I bet we will see a "PUSH Color Correction" tool from Ableton that will allow us to fine tune our own equipment.

This is such a simple problem, with what should be a simple solution...

I went ahead and submitted a trouble ticket, not that I expect to learn anything new about hte issue, but because that way I am one more statistic for them on this issue.

If we all just sit by talk about this in the forums not much will be done, if every single person submits a ticket about this, and their displeasure with it, eventually Ableton will get the message.

Everyone submit a trouble ticket on this issue!

It's a fabulous piece of kit. If you don't like the rainbow push, mod it using one of the other colour schemes like seapush.

the logic of how to do it is pretty simple. doing it fast enough on the fly is the big problem. i think we can assume that currently the electronics in the Push use a single definition for each colour, which is global for all 64 pads. to have individual colours means processing each pad individually, for every refresh cycle of the pads. so it needs to happen really fast.

if the solution was simple they would have done it months ago.

I've been assuming for the last while that I am one of the lucky ones who got a 'white' push.

My lights are ever so slightly discoloured, but I hardly notice it.

I just checked what mine looks like when photographed.

I killed the lights, and took a picture of my Push with my trusty Canon.

It looks pretty much like Oxxxes' second push.

Image

It seems that photographs exaggerate the discolouration.

So the question arises for me: If this is what people are complaining about, then I really don't see what the fuss is about.

Oxxxes, what does your Push like like if you photograph it under natural light?

I'm the OP, pics at the beginning are under natural light and look identical in person. This is not a small amount of discoloration.
