There seems to be absolutly nothing for PC users there!!!!
So all your development goes to mac laptops that are not even out yet... Wow you are so hip....

Well speed increase ONLY IF I CHANGE MY HARDWARE.... sorry.... but I see no improvements on my current machine.

Hambone, launch live, what does it say ? DJ app for playing 6 tracks or complete music solution. If it's the latter you can assume Live is sold as a DAW application.

When I'm having that issue I find it best to change the driver type to "No Audio" and then render. I've experienced plenty of pops and clicks issues in renders (even doing something as simple as warping an 8 beat loop and rendering it) when I've got the audio driver set to ASIO (or *spit* MME/DirectX), but I've yet to have it happen when I use No Audio.

would this then mean that the sound card / interface could be problem?

Saving your life? If your life depends on music production I can't imagine Ableton being the sole piece of gear you have ... You can always crank up the latency , get another DAW and rewire.
