Re: Time signature changes

I do a fair number of songs (in live shows) that have complicated meter changes, and I've managed to make them all work by various workarounds. Basically I turn off the built-in metronome, record my own click track and send it to the cue output, and then set up follow actions appropriately. Since you can set the time signature for individual clips, it isn't very hard to set up follow actions to do the right thing. The only thing that is really farkled (deeply) is any kind of effect that is synched to the global bar/beat time, like Looper. So I simply stay away from that kind of effect in such songs; there are plenty of other ways to do looping, especially with M4L.

On the arrangement side, there is no problem whatsoever, in fact Live is more flexible than about any DAW I know in terms of being able to insert arbitrary-length time sections that don't correspond to bars/beats at all into the timeline. That's a really nice feature for music that's not very tempo-strict.

I'd like to see this worked into Session view as well, somehow, just not sure how it would be done exactly since different clips can have their own time signature at present....
