I can't believe you guys don't see how George Bush was behind this

if you notice - the building was chained, well buildings like that can't be chained

and the 2 hour gap - well, George Bush was in a meeting so they say, but did you know no meeting lasts for 2 hours

George Bush was behind 9/11, Hurricane Katrina and now the Virginia Tech Massacre

I saw we do something about this before he blows up France with a french fry!!!

Not really. You'd have to also ban Bats, Automobiles, Knives, Bows, Axes and every other object that could kill aswell. You think that nut that killed those little Amish girls in that school house needed a gun? He could've done exactly what he did with any object or even his bare hands. A murdering psycho is just that, and even without a gun, will find a way. And on the bomb thing, I dont remember Timothy mcveigh being a rhodes scholar/bomb maker. Just a common ex grunt with the Anarchists cook book and 4,000 pounds of ammonium nitrate in a U-haul. Certainly all the "slack jawed hillbillies" everyone on here keeps referring to could figure out/do what mcveigh did.

are you serious ? you think he could have killed 32 with a bat ? or a knife ? or an axe ? or a bow ? possibly with an automobile...possibly.

as for timothy mcveigh, I guess you missed the part where I said it would take planning & time etc to make and explode a bomb. I'm talking about folks flipping out, getting their hands on a gun, and killing people...within the space of a couple of hours. Do you think timothy woke up that morning and decided to blow the place up ? doubtful. more likely he was thinking about it for a longish time.

I was reffering to the Amish school house first off. Secondly, the right person yes absolutley. You take a man the size of hulk hogan (or any large individual) pissed off with a bat, an axe and a chain/lock to keep 30 high school students trapped in a class room and your going to have 30 dead high school students. Even two average men working together, same result.

if one of your brothers, sisters, cousins or friends was killed at Virginia Tech yesterday you'd be pretty well, distraught

quit blaming shit (unless it's george bush) and ask yourself what can you do to make the world a better place (we can start by getting rid of all the mexicans)

I also direct your attention to serial killers who sometimes patiently work for years killing people -- one at a time. Not always with guns, either.

Yeah - the news media are creaming themselves over this one. It's pretty goulish.

Have a really good look at the figures for gun crime in the US per head of population and in developmentally equivalent nations like, say, Canada, Britain, Switzerland, or Japan;

Gun deaths per 100,000 population (for the year indicated):

USA 4.08 (1999)

Canada 0.54 (1999)

Switzerland 0.50 (1999)

Scotland 0.12 (1999) -

England/Wales 0.12 (1999/00)

Japan 0.04 (1998)

Seems as though the new gun laws are working well in this country with a homicide rate with a firearm at 0.27 per 100000 in 2002-2003. Half of what it was prior to the Tasmanian bloodbath 10 years ago.
This figure is 15 times less than the American figure. Considering your massive population, thats a huge body count!
We have not had this type of killing spree since.
Yes, criminals will always get a gun even if guns are banned, but in Victoria there has been a 'Gang War' in the last 10 years where they are only killing each other. Thats right. Strangely, if you dont carry a gun, you seem to be quite safe over here.
