FARMPAD for padKontrol now v 1.3.1 !!! !!!

Hi,

resurrecting the thread from the dead

reading the last pages, I realise I was absolutely wrong with the advice to modify the default settings txt file, this does NOTHING. this file is only an informative one, and changing stuff in it (i.e, midi channel) DOES NOTHING.... my bad...


anyway, I'm back to try something different, I'm setting up a live set using the ideas here :

to be able to live record loops from my mopho keyboard, using my padkontrol, farmpad and midistroke.

but I have now another problem:

MIDISTROKE crashes when farmpad is active, so I have no way to use farmpad as a midi source for midistroke....

I'm pretty sure I managed this some times ago....

I can't open midistroke when farmpad is active. If farmpad is not active, I can open midistroke, then launch farmpad, but midistroke doesn't then allow me to choose farmpad as midi source...

I'm stuck.

anyone managed to use farmpad AND midistroke simultaneously???

if it's not possible, I'll have to let go... maybe buy one or two akai LPD8, but I love my padkontrol and the ability to reconfigure it with farmpad...

I found some posts I made in the korg forums about farmpad... and I now KNOW that I was able to use farmpad as a midi source for midistroke...

this could be a problem since I updated to SNOW leopard???? (I had to install rosetta to be able to run midistroke...)

I found that my problem is coming from midistroke 1.1, because I use the french keyboard version of midistroke... I installed midistroke 1.4 and I can use farmpad as the midi source with no problems, but the AZERTY QWERTY keys problem stays... I contacted charlie and there is hope for a french version of midistroke 1.4

Downloading quickeys right now to see what's better or worse compared to midistroke for what I'm searching to do

I am. As long as I manually open Terminal, and drag my farmpad preset txt into Terminal, it works perfectly. That said, i'd still be on Snow Leopard if i was able to.

On Snow Leopard, i had an Automator script that opened Live and ran the script for Farmpad (among other things), all with a double-click off my desktop. When i try to run Farmpad on Lion using this method, it messes everything up in Farmpad, and it doesn't fix itself until you restart the computer, no matter if i unplug the farmpad from the usb port or anything. So i rewrote the Automator patch so it opens Terminal, and open My Documents folder, then i just have to manually type in farmpad -c and drag the txt file into it. Meh.

LOVE ME SOME FARMPAD!!!

PS haven't tried running 2 padKontrols but my buddy has one so maybe i'll give it a shot.... i'm not sure how you'd go about a telling Terminal/Farmpad which padKontrol is which though. Thoughts?
