There you go again. Homer Simpson gun mentality. Indeed.

More ways to stop crime. Do tell, Captain. You and your sidekick MuffinTop, running around. The Dynamic Dunces. Showering the criminals with love potion and then pinning a little forgiveness charm on their lapels. Sweetness for sure. That'll stop 'em, Cap'n!

*smootchy*
relax man, it's just the internet, you generally have more substance to your posts. chill.

OK smartass, you're harping on something kinda personal I wrote, creepy, but this is what I've done.
- I'm at work, a few stories up, middle of the day, there's Joe watching something out the window. "that guy's breaking into that car." "holy shit, he is. ummm... shit..." I've had my car broken into many times, I wanted to do something, so I walked around the neighborhood until I found the guy and followed him from a distance. I saw a cop, told her and got out of there. within a few minutes there was half a dozen cops around.

- I'm in the Mission waiting outside a store for the wife. I see some guy sprinting down the sidewalk a few blocks away, running towards me, other side of the street. then I see a Chinese lady about half a block behind her. shit shit shit shit. OK... so I run after the guy, I catch up and remembering Grand Theft Auto and I bark out in my lowest meanest cop-like voice "don't make me run!!" the guy stopped immediately, dropped the clothes and a big guy came out of nowhere and put him in a chokehold. I walk back to the store, wife came out like nothing happened. on the walk back this old black guy looks me up and down and says "man, you can be fast when you want to!" lol!! wha??

this one is dumb because I could've been shot at if he had a gun
- I caught a guy trying to break into my apartment (not in SF) from the balcony, he jumped down and hid under the balcony. I opened and closed the door so he thought I went inside. he bolted, I yelled "I've got a gun." he stopped, we exchanged words, he took off.

shit happens, that how I've dealt with it. in Texas I could've shot them.

yeah, the Homer Simpson mentality that guns solve all problems. do you know that episode? take any situation, put a gun into it, the situation will only get worse, IMO, pro-gun people disagree with that.

Rover, you're losing your cool man, chill.

LOL. It was that comment you made early on about my '81 Explorer. Nothing you've said since has gotten under my skin.

Actually, I bought an Explorer Pro 6 months ago and it's become my fav guitar by far.

Image

It's a shame that this guitar has become associated with Metal and the 80's really. It's the classic 1950's futuristic shape that appeals to me. That and it's got a wonderfully warm tone, and can be instantly chunky when needed. Very Les Paul sounding, but with a bit more edge.

What happens in this thread stays in this thread? heh. Except when it spills over to ADJ in emergency situations.

I'm not going to begrudge you your bravery. Even if I'd had a gun in those cases you sighted I would have run away like a sissy.

these were two unarmed men who were robbing the neighbors house. homeboy shot them both in the back. ain't gonna rob anyone else, are they?

it's foul and it's not even close to self defense or protection of property. it is murder, plain and simple. prolly

if the two guys were local white kids it would have been a different story, i can tell you that much, g. not for me...

what would the thieves have done had someone been home? whacked someone over the head with the tire iron, cause they had to "get theirs..." get a fucking job. sure, no one wants to work at mcdonalds, but people don't deserve to go thru the violation of home invasion, either. no one likes to work, we all have things we'd rather do, save a very select few.

no one in jail is guilty

if dude was going to shoot, fuck an injury shot, shoot to kill. wasn't right to murder, but that is on him, not me. so, imo he should have done nothing, or killed them. either/or...

thank god i live in texas, knowing that if someone breaks into my house, while my family sleeps, and my pitbulls fuck him up, and hold him while i get a knife to severe his fucking skull, i won't get screwed by the court system. i give a shit whether he has a weapon or not. how hard is it to kill a 5 year old child who is sleeping? would you need a weapon?

if you are from out of town, you will not have a problem finding female companionship.
no clubs, no good food to go out and eat, no shows(maybe in casper or cheyene), no skatepark, limited movie theaters,

if you do go, you will need to entertain yourself.

Most people seem ugly, they do not take the time to make themselves up, because wyoming is so dull, and ugly(barring the mountain regions)

this is exclusive from this question ---> should it be legal to kill them for their guilt on the spot?

part of me says yes, and another part says no. i would like to think that people make the best decision in a moment like that, that you could trust a normal citizen to "uphold" the law, same freedoms we give cops and our troops. but people don't make the right decisions, evident in the criminals actions, which led to the shootings. nobody gives a fuck about the law, until the law gives a fuck about them. and then, there is always someone else to blame, hence my statement. it's the media, and the school system, and our parents, and the government, they are to blame! which means we are to blame. that dang ole vicious cycle and all.

that old fucker knew nothing would happen (with the cops), and prolly expected if he injured them, they would seek revenge. the criminals prolly thought the guy was just being tuff, wouldn't actually shoot them. he wasn't goin out like that, he did what he thought was right. he'll pay for what he did, most likely, there have already been death threats.

what i wonder is, if the criminals were white, would he still have shot? if race played any part in what he did, he deserves the same. if, however, he did it, for his neighbor, to send a message to thugs, good on him.

we are all killers. it's in our blood. we are still just as savage as we were in the wild west, or colonization, or rome, or egypt, or cavefuck. we just have better toys.

but hey, i'm just an ass, talking shit on a forum. good thing i'm not god, there would be some serious smote-ing going on...

TL;DR Capital punishment is bullshit, personal protection is not, but vigilantes need to be monitored at the very least.

it would be interesting to see the violent crimes and burglaries per 100,000 in texas and compare to lets say ny or dc which have/had the strictest gun laws in the us. I think life is the most valuable thing on earth and should be protected/perserved when ever possible. Dont get me wrong, thats a double edged sword there.

I also think theres a lot of missing info on this case here in this post so I cant form an opinion one way or the other. For example: How many times has that neighborhood been burglarized? Has mr hill ever been the victim of a violent crime/theft before. What were mr hills feeling for his neighbors? Details on the neighbors?(they could have been a single mother of seven children for all we know) Im whats described as a bleeding heart liberal by many but i dont automatically want this guy burned at the stake for shooting someone in the back, in all fairness they might have or might have not deserved it.

North america isnt the only violent place on earth, strictly speaking on a peer to peer basis I assume with little research Scotland or eastern Europe takes the cake(on a per 100,000 person stat)
