Al's an even bigger sellout with worse albums and less innovation. Psalm 69 helped kick off Nu Metal but his last 6-7 albums are all pretty much the same forgettable chugga chugga cookie monster routine, track after track (but I like that.)

he just keeps his drunken ego in check and his mouth shut.

IMO Ministry >> NIN but that's my personal taste.

Ja. Well. I wasn't offering an opinion on Al's music - then or now. Just giving an accurate history lesson. But good to know where you stand on Big Al's music.

You're either retarded, trolling, but I think most likely both. :D

Here's the lyrics to Slug Bait, off of Throbbing Gristles first record, it simply doesn't get any more ugly and dark. http://www.brainwashed.com/tg/lyrics.html

You want testosterone, look no further than Whitehouse. http://www.myspace.com/susanlawly
listen to Dumping the Fucking Rubbish, Trent is a pop star, who uses industrial to put an edge to his watered down new wave light rock. :D
Now I'm sure you think this is all horrible, it's OK there are plenty of guys just like you out there.

Fuck I am so glad he couldn't figure out how to use their sound. He hems and haws, but admits he tried to 'extract' what was interesting to him from their music.

At least there's one group he's not panning in an interview though. My BIGGEST gripe with him is that he almost never talks about groups he's fond of, it's always groups he doesn't like etc. makes him look insecure.

Wow all that shit was mild as fuck. Sometimes it's amazing how different peoples tastes in music can be. I have a friend who listens to bullshit but is an amazing musician, it's really personal preference I guess. We are WORLDS apart in our definition of what heavy music is. Lets consider my standards here so that we can accurately gauge. The heaviest music in the world is made by Meshuggah, they have 8 string guitars in half step tuning.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=y6VerKdcrOQ

Here is Tool: http://youtube.com/watch?v=YUYf3b8_wj4

And now NIN: Gave up, http://youtube.com/watch?v=kzoAMbfrO9o&feature=related

These are the varying levels of "heavy" in my opinion. Your music is devoid of energy and sounds like shit, try hormone replacement it can help. :D Just fucking with you off course... I think ghosts pays homage to alot of throbbing gristles stuff.
Two technics 1210 turntables, alot of guitars, 2gig Sony vgz fz290, 2gig frankenstein pc, mbox, ableton, flstudio, recycle, the infinity gauntlet, and alot of spare time..

When I see an idiot like Fred Durst [of Limp Bizkit] spouting off about, 'I'm in it for the money, buy my record, buy two copies of it, I'm going to be the best business man, I'm just doing this till I get into movies' -- [he should] sell dish-washing liquid or something. It's damaged music. I don't mean him personally, but this climate has created a very unhealthy situation to spawn new creative acts." Trent Reznor

How can you be against that? Limp Bizkit fucking sucks,,

Dudez,

how can you be a-hatin' the guy who got the first video game placement I ever knew?? ... like in nothing other than Doom, in the second level, one could go for a pedestal with a chain saw, and beside it there was a cube, and in the cube you could clearly read the mark of the most bloody-and-badass band there ever was. And it read: NIN, and I think they were nails, for a nailgun one could find somewhere else.

like 8O

Also,

If you can be a-kissing your own electro-snobbish asses about "heavy", "testosterone"-y hard music for 8 pages and not once mention their papi, then you're ready for your own collective "emo" phase again.

I'm talking about Rage of course, Rage Against The Machine has no equal on that bar. just like Tool, which is actually listenable.

*wink*

These are the same people that would smash your face in at a concert just to move up the crowd all to see a band they been talking shit about all week.

All this talk made me realize how much you rock NIN ..and how much you could kill.

OK first of all only NIN has any semblance of Industrial in his music, the other two are metal. Stick with the fucking genre. Even the NIN song you posted is just a straight rock emo screamo number.

Yes, that's the point NIN rips the shit out of TG etc. and WHINES over it, if that's testosterone to you?????
I actually cannot believe you think that NIN song is heavy??? is it the geetars in it that make you think it's manly? because it can't be his voice or lyrics.
Plus, the point was/is NI are not innovators, 90% of what I've posted in this thread is over 20 years old.

Meshuggah are a great Thrash/death metal band, (the best out there right now IMO) but not Industrial.
Brutal Meshuggah song here. Funny vid. http://youtube.com/watch?v=4A_tSyJBsRQ

24 year old video of a 28 year old industrial song. Live, and recorded on a budget, but anybody who thinks this is light music is basically lying. http://youtube.com/watch?v=bTxWVtvi5P8

I'm sure the guys in Skinny Puppy were fans, SPKs early recording were disturbing. Their 'ambient' stuff is freaky as hell, bad acid trip freaky.

Who's having trembles??
