When will the collaboration feature become available?
This feature is planned for version 2.0.
ReWire? There is no ReWire support planned
I'm curious to see how that will be taken by those who were acting like this would be the second coming.

No Rewire? OMFG... How many times have I said this thing is going to be naked.. that's not even naked, that's plain stupid. Everything does Rewire. PFFT, I can't live without Rewire.

Don't get me wrong, I had no intention of even demo'ing, let alone buying this thing, but still... No Rewire? That's crazy. Rewire has become a standard.

I'm really curious about this:
"Will Bitwig Studio offer mappings for hardware controllers?
Yes, we plan to offer default mappings for the most popular MIDI controllers right out of the box. We will also offer an open API so that interested users and developers can create their own controller support using JavaScript and share their scripts with the Bitwig community."

Instant mapping wouldn't be nearly as useful without some form of macros per track, or else the order of controls isn't easily customizable. Ableton lets you change the order of plug-ins, either directly, or by adding the controls to macros. This single feature would prevent me from looking anywhere else unless the competition had it too.

it would be interesting if you could order the controls as you can in M4L, or with something like NativeKontrol's LIME

Actually, i want to like Reason but dont so I wouldnt miss the no rewire.
But still its pretty glaring.

And no AU? Id have to dig out all my discs and downloads and reinstall VST's.
Not the end of the world but still...

Sounds like more pains in the ass will be discovered as time passes.

Ok, no AU is also a big mistake.. but as far as the Rewire goes.. lots of things, and not just Reason, are using Rewire. So.. Plenty of people using Rewire, and not for some combination of Reason and Cubase, or Reason and Live, or Reason and XXX, etc...

Plenty of people I am sure.. For eg, Rewiring Ableton slave 2 Cubase....

:D :D :D

^ wait :x i used to...

...and (why i used the Mr. Wong emoticon)... i will have to be again soon...

i lost a hard drive on a PC with 4 drives. the one that went down was (of course) the one that had all my music files on it. i restored them from backup, but without previously doing a Collect All & Save on every Live set and manually doing something similar in all the Cubase folders... the drive letters and paths to the files were all broken. so, i faked it and gave the restored backup (on a new hard drive) all the same naming conventions and the same drive letter. now i'm going through and doing the Collect All & Save bit on every Live set so that the files can be opened/moved without errors when i execute them. in the process though there are/will be several tracks i created where Live was slaved to Cubase SX3 and if i'm going to save the song, i have to do some editing just. like. that.

the good news is... i'll be done soon and so will the USB port with the Cubase dongle in it.

Yeah, I dont get Ableton as a rewire slave personally. You have to make it all into audio first. Might as well just make stems and import them. Printing without being done gives me the heebeegeebees.
I know for many, rapid printing is the only thing that enables them to finish, so I guess its just me. Maybe if I tracked more live instruments Id be bothered by the editing limitations and it would make more sense.

I have often wished the Ableton could do full Rewire though. Like I wish I could combine Logic's Sculpture synth with my Ableton material. Its such a nonlinear thinking environment that making it linear to bring it into a linear DAW seems to me to kind of defeat the purpose of using it.

Again - just me.

:? no you don't.

i used to use Live to play drums (MIDI)... rewire to Cubase... record vox and guitar/bass there... export from the master track in Cubase. done.

so..ehm... no sticking to the method of slaving Live to Cubase.. huh ?
well...I'll make the declaration ..ehm :
Rewire is strictly for Reason users wanting to branch out... there.. I've said it..

@H2Only... well why did you stop using that fantastic workflow ?
