Just tried this to airplay content to my Mac.
http://ericasadun.com/ftp/AirPlay/
It works well but will only stream video, not audio only content (the player even says that).

Here goes:
Bought a 3g 32gig iPad yesterday.
First Impressions:
ABSOLUTELY F*CKING LOVING IT
I haven't really sussed out too much of the operational stuff - Grouping Aps etc?
Got the Korg iMS 20 - Awesome
Got Apple Numbers - a bit tricky to negotiate and seems to crash if you tap in the wrong place in the tutorial! - but still great for working on the go. Will also get Pages and Keynote. Havent tried to import any excel files yet (not holding my breath on that one!)
Got Tab Toolkit - Doesn't seem to let me add my own tabs - Dissapointing.
Anyone know of a good quick app for putting down my own stuff let me know. Chords would be fine, but need to be to deal with Jazz chords if only library based.
Anyway - suffice to say I'm loving it - so far
Right I'm off to buy iRig

Nice.
NICE.
Welcome to the Fold.
Before you buy iRig, check out iLink. The build quality isn't quite the same, but it's battery powered (thus eliminating some line issues), and works with both Amplitube and AmpKit apps. iRig, from posts I've read, doesn't work with AmpKit.
AmpKit - as many pedals as you want at one time.
Amplitube - only 3 pedals at a time. WTF?

My roommate has a semi-successful DJ podcast (Thank you Asia and some ocean dwelling people off the the coast of Africa!). His sets are usually jazzy or funky down tempo and for whatever unknown reason he throws in some DnB sets every now and then. Every once and awhile I slip him some tracks to include in his mix but recently I challenged him to do a set entirely of tracks I pick from my library. When you're doing DJ sets that aren't definitive dance genres tempos can be all over the map so for the purpose of burning him songs for the set I bought an iPhone app that let's you tap out the tempo and it tells you what it is so I can at least be in the ballpark.

Awesome.
PS. I'm cooking a roast in the oven right now and I used the All Recipes app for the recipe.

Oh and please subscribe to my roommate's DJ podcast.
http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/corb ... d254946028
I'm a heavy contributor. Not that I guest DJ or that I supply him with the bulk of the tracks, but he was a big-ish DJ in SF in the 90's and then said fuck it and got a day job. Soon after he met me I donated my CDJs and mixer soon after I got Traktor so he could get back into it. When he gets his Mac Mini in January (also my idea) I will be giving him my Traktor Pro license since I got a new license with the Traktor S4. Shit, I'm the best friend you could have, second to the one that sports a vagina.
Insider info: It was my idea when next year he starts announcing more (made up) DJs playing in a set than there are songs. "Cool, there's 16 DJs playing this 10 track set".
But not as brilliant of an idea as a former member of this forum who would post tour dates and locations on his myspace page for places that don't actually exist.

I seriously recommend one if your iPad leaves the house.
If I were king for a day I would give you an honorary free iPad for still reading this epic thread which is mostly just me and LSZ having an unrestricted stream of consciousness about the iPad.
I thought Otter Box made cases for people who frequent frat parties and get pushed into pools before emptying their pockets, or for 16-year-old girls who still can't get the fuck off the phone while they're scuba diving in the Caribbean. No?

What can I say... I like you guys. Besides, I like to keep up with technology... even if its something I don't have. I'd take that free one though. I've said before that I have no beef with Apple products, I just buck when it comes to their business model.
I have to say, frat boys or not, that Otter box is fucking sweet. Its a stand to boot which is one of the things I first poked at the iPad about. I predicted a wave of overpriced solutions for propping the fucker up. Water proof and solid make for a good investment to protect your investment. So if I was to happen upon a free pad I'd definitely drop it in one of those.
Hope you boys had a good Christmas... I can say that here right? its not un PC on the forum yet is it

fuckin twisted... beats I know you've heard of Walnut Creek right? Its the next town over from me... they can't have a Christmas tree anymore... its a "holiday tree"

ironically its next to a giant menorah... they don't call that a holiday candle holder though. Fucking double standards make me wanna puke. One fuck stick complains and the rest of the 2 million in the 60 mile radius have to change their traditions... weak i say.

There's a couple Otter Box cases out there and they do look interesting, although one is uglier than the other and that depends on who finds what ugly. I kind of like my stock Apple case cause it has the fold over cover that protects it from dust or stains as I also like to use my iPad for a drink coaster.
I actually found myself telling people "happy holidays" instead of "merry Christmas" as to not offend anybody. More disturbing is how I effortlessly made that change in my day to day conversation as if I previously got hit over the head with a newspaper for wishing people a merry Christmas. Just another example of how we're bored as a species/people in that this is something to really stress about.

I think the honeymoon period is over. It's going on something like 19 hours since my last app purchase.
Hm, I wonder if there's any new weather apps because 5 just isn't enough.

This changes nothing. Again.
Seriously, all the coverage I've seen of tablets is "man holds something that looks like an iPad" but then in an attempt to cut people off mid yawn they reveal the real game changer. Could it be? Wait. Yes, yes it's a USB port!!! ...and then they catch out of the corner of their eye what looks to be a case for the iPad 2 and quickly wander towards the light.
Just the case for an Apple product that doesn't even exist yet gains more excitement and speculation.

And the design for all the new tablets? lol. I mean, not one of them has come up with something that isn't a complete knock off. Jebus. From the black border panel to the aluminum trim. Can't one of them do.....I dunno...a white tablet? Beat Apple to the punch or something? Nay. They cannot. Because all the other tablet companies are complete lemmings. Cost Benefit and Risk Analysis' were conducted, and the results prove that straying from the Apple aesthetic could have a seriously negative impact on sales.
My fav move? Some of the new tablets are the same overall size as an iPad, but the screens are actually reduced by 20%.

A good number of people on here would think that design would rule because anything that features wood means it's awesome, right?

I just got done with an ENORMOUS purge of apps that I wasn't using. I mean, blech. Why am I keeping them around?
Shit like the Time Magazine app. Worthless.
An untold number of RSS newsreaders. All of them sucked.
Weather apps up the wazoo. WeatherBug is all I need, thank you very much.
Bloomberg Financial app. Jebus, who the fuck do I think I am that I need that app? Warren Buffet? GONE.
LastFM. omfg.
AP News. Wretched. In fact, all news apps are pretty much shit substitutes for the actual websites.
MultiPong. Without a doubt the most boring game on Planet Earth. OUTTA HERE.
It felt so good. So, so good.
