Broken lines, broken strings
Broken threads, broken springs
Broken idols, broken heads
People sleeping in broken beds
Ain’t no use jiving
Ain’t no use joking
Everything is broken

Broken bottles, broken plates
Broken switches, broken gates
Broken dishes, broken parts
Streets are filled with broken hearts
Broken words never meant to be spoken
Everything is broken

Seem like every time you stop and turn around
Something else just hit the ground

Broken cutters, broken saws
Broken buckles, broken laws
Broken bodies, broken bones
Broken voices on broken phones
Take a deep breath, feel like you’re chokin'
Everything is broken

Every time you leave and go off someplace
Things fall to pieces in my face

Broken hands on broken ploughs
Broken treaties, broken vows
Broken pipes, broken tools
People bending broken rules
Hound dog howling, bullfrog croaking
Everything is broken

I wasn't the slightest bit interested in Bitwig until I saw the new beta video. Must admit, it's intriguing. Per note automation, 1 cell/clip containing multiple audio, looks like it even has the elusive recording automation to clips feature. Now if it had functional plugin delay compensation, I might be tempted...

i think you are the target market, their dream customer...no offense
that's everyones dream customer. However, I've felt this way about M4L since it came out and still don't have it... I'd probably still get max first though...

WOOT WOOT!! my neighbors could hear the scream of joy!! good call 3dot 8)

that totally worked... the irony... when i opened it up... the drums were missing... they were re-wired from FL Studio

@ donmich - i totally thought i was going to have to rebuild from the mess of stems (and stumps).

thanks guys!

edit: looks like fookin AUTOMAP was to blame. i tossed that shit out the window like a cigarette butt years ago... seems as though it landed in the back seat. :x

still haven't found a track with Live re-wired. got laundry to do...

It seems to me that Bitwig was created for the fringe of hardcore Live users who whined for things like clip automation, Linux support, and crap like that. I don't know how much money there is in that fringe, and I don't care. But last I checked, Linux users were not interested in paying for anything for software, let alone $500 USD.

This whole thing stirs up annoying emotions that I want to ignore, but I can't. It's like when one of your friends breaks up with his girlfriend, and you're still friends with them both. But then a couple years later the chick shows up out of nowhere with a half human half robot version of your friend. You go out to lunch with them, even though you're kind of weirded out. Every once in a while the robot tricks you, and you think you're hanging out with your buddy, but then you look closer at how shitty his GUI actually looks and you snap out of it.

Meh, none of this is that different than half the Steinberg team leaving to form Emagic, putting out Logic and having years of animosity towards each other 'because they stole ideas from Cubase etc." Though from the looks of it, Bitwig and Ableton aren't going to be talking smack about each other but their fans will.
