ok, i'm a marketing guy and i know what's going on.

they're giving %25 off constantly which means Live 9 is almost ready. they want people to buy more stuff so they'll favor an upgrade or such. but they're not releasing it yet because probably waiting for competitors -say Logic X- to roll their updates.

no doubt, but I dont think it's almost ready. I think they are almost ready to show us some features an ads, but I think it's still quite a few months off. I bet they make an announcement early spring and tell us it will be available in winter

They will announce Live 9 in a few days, after the end of the 25% discount.
So the participants of the test will be allowed to talk (and rave) about what
they were able to test before public beta starts.
Bitwigs knew about the date (or speculated about it) and therefor announced
their software a few days earlier.

Oh, btw: It won't be Live 9, it will be Live Pro 1.0 or whatever.

Naming it merely "nine" won't make sense any longer. It has to be a leap a la Cubase VST to Cubase SX. After three years feature silence they have to hit hard! New code, new clothes...or something
