If this is true (and also works for the vst. versions for sync), then this is huge IMO!
this is already possible with Maschine (as vst).. or am i missing something?
I think currently you can use two Maschine controllers for the same instance of Maschine by putting one of them in MIDI mode. I think what Tom is talking about is using two Maschine controllers, both in Maschine mode, for two separate instances of Maschine.

you can switch instances of each maschine controller... (by pressing shift+step button)
All active maschine instances will be listed and you can move between them with even 2 or more maschine controllers
it was added in 1.8 if I'm not mistaken

No you still don't understand: Now two people can work with two instances of Maschine with two controllers all synced in Live for example.
Making a band like experience much easier.
I hope this becomes a thing, so that Ableton has to take a cue from NI on this and add independent blue hands (plural!) to Live, so that two Pushs could be used in the same way!

You're right. Looks like it is already possible to have two different Maschine controllers each controlling a separate instance of Maschine (both can be in Maschine mode) within the same host: http://www.native-instruments.com/forum ... ost1060359

Well, I guess I deserved that
To my excuse, by the time the 1.8 up-date came out, I was already way past the manual reading phase on Maschine.

From my forum hunting research it appears that I was not the only one not aware of this.

Not trying to to bring negativity to the party, but a grand? That's heading into octatrack territory and your standalone.....
Ableton 9, Feeltune Rhizome, Focusrite Pro, Mpk249....

sounds about right for maschine + color lcds + audio interface + midi hub... which is what the "studio" model is

not a cheap unit..
but if you already have an audio interface..and maschine isn't your main DAW ... you're probably not going to need/want this kit..
