my thoughts are that in more ways than they can imagine the Remote SL25 is the ideal controller except Automap is half-baked.
I wish using automap was more akin to driving a groovebox..
one day it will be, and i will have a full head of grey hairs, but it will be oh so sweet!

Many of us are really into the LED button grid idea and want MIDI controllers that do that (which are cheaper and more readily available than the Monome).
I wonder to what extend a regular computer keyboard can be used for this.
I mean if you think about it... it's a grid of buttons and costs 20 bucks.
Max can capture keyboard commands so you could even possibly use a keyboard with LEDs and try to hack up something for what clip is playing and not have to spend a shit ton of money? hrm.

you're right.
But I'm not sure it will cost only 20..
for instance, my planned gear will cost around 170$ (around 107€) for the brain (reusable Wiring platform) + leds + buttons.
