Yeah, that would be totally cool! 8)
Saddle up then

Saddle up and ride your pony
Sit around and you'll be lonley
Saddle up and make the dust fly
Sit around and you will just cry.
lalala ...

... I'm cheating, I meant the velocity mapping part! That would be really cool (,too)!

Velocity mapping can be done in Live 6 - that's what I draw from what the campers say. You just have to put several Impulses in one "rack", assigning different velocities to all of them. (Impulse 1 for velocities 0-25 etc.).

At least that's what I hope it will be like...

It's exactly like that...

does the layering allow for curves in velocity and controller data - such as exponential / log / user defined - or is it simply a linear range

I am expecting linear BTW, but curves would be useful.

If Ableton is using Quicktime, I would guess that the video track would be able to load any video track that the quicktime player could play. That would include various avi's and there are codecs you can install for divx.

Have any of the alpha testers tried various formats? Do they work or only .mov?

It's linear. But with a fade range. (controller/velocity and key)
So yeah, you sorta have curves.

.mov, avi and mp4 seems to work. Mpg doesn't work in these alpha's (not for me at least).

The fade range is controlled by the little lines above the brown lines.

Double word, yo!

I used to do this with drums all the time in - gasp! - StudioVision and it rocked. Also did it in my AKAI S2000 and man did that allow some fucnkiness. Why did I sell it? oh, cash, that's right!

Does this mean I should just delete simpler and use sampler instead? Is there any use in simpler now that sampler is an upgraded version?
