Deal.

There are three [edit] sad [/edit] reasons for this:mdk wrote:but I do understand the anti-Russian bias of our American friends as I just watched some CNN. its blindingly obvious what you're supposed to think.
There's no background and no explanations...

C'mon buddy, where's the essay you promised explaining the events that have happened so far? I can't wait to read it! Surely a luminary such as yourself will have great insight and understanding!

This is such a stretch it's not even funny. The parts of Georgia that Georgia attacked were NOT HAPPY being part of Georgia and had been so incorporated back into Russia that they had been issued passports. This had been acknowledged and an ongoing thing for over 15 years! Basically those areas had freely elected to return to Russia, and it was only a matter of time before they did. Georgia attacked those areas to bring them back into their fold. I would hardly call that Russia attacking first, and even if you were going to ignore the fact that all of Georgia had been under Russian control for 200 plus years, you would still not be able to compare it to Saddam, and it would still not look like Russia aggressively attacking innocent Georgia because it was angry about losing it's empire.landrvr1 wrote:4.33 wrote:without a doubt.plexiglass wrote:my 5 cents: russians were, are and forever will be a sick nation
but in this particular case we are sick for stopping georgian government from killing innocent civilians of South Osetia, most of which are russian, btw.
Tshinvali has been burned down to the ground, not a single house has been left standing. georgian tanks have simply erased it in a matter of hours. people were trapped in their basements without food or water for days, and those who attempted to get out were shot by georgian hitmen.
predictably enough, as soon as the russia has put tanks into occupied south osetia - it has become the main aggressor in the western media. while some candidates in the US presidential race are dancing on the graves on innocent people. this is propaganda, and it has always been the most effective mean to influence in the right way the political views of idiot masses.
the whole world is sick, my polish mate.
Hey asshole.
"The aggressor has been punished, having sustained considerable losses. Its armed forces have been disorganised."
-Russian President Dmitry Medvedev
Words that are chillingly similar to those used by Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, etc etc etc etc etc
whenever they attempt to explain yet another illegal act of war and aggression.
You can paint this however the fuck you want, but a single little tiny fact remains.
Georgia didn't attack Russia.
If Medvedev starts to use the term EVIL DOERS, then we're in real trouble.
