Others have made good points about AudioGL. It looks amazing but remains to be seen if it's a useful tool. If you've ever used Excel spreadsheets before, it would be like trying to do a simple spreadsheet in photoshop. Kind of annoying when all you'd want is a simple grid.

I love the innovation but skeptical it's actually a better work environment.

I think it should be viewed as a really awesome digital synth...
not DAW
(hadn't seen any indication of audio files/recordings..through out the demo vids)

so I see this as a modular digital synth..
same as I viewed Live as a really cool ..
and "out there" Sampler (way back in v4.)

that... I can relate to that 'view/perspective of things.. in a kind of 'taking a journey' way, more so than the left, right, or right, left way..

Some things just 'appeal'

Anyway, I'm sure it isn't for everyone.. but then again, it seems the bw beta isn't either!

What if ...

Bitwig just couldnt get a workable beta together and had to keep pushing the date further and further, from January until June it was coming soon, and we're starting to see their positive public interest turn to disdain, so they hatched a desperate plan :"let's say we released a beta, but it's super closed and secret, and that way nobody will say we are vapourware and we can buy ourselves another few months to privately get this hint more stable" . In fact, nobody is in the beta.

Why announce a beta and publicise the features if the beta is then held under an NDA? What would be secret? All the features are being publicised, so no need to be secret. In my experience they are either secret and NDAed, or public and open ... Not both!

What if ...the beta doesn't exist.

hmmmm (rubs chin) Very interesting Mr Watson..

What if, it's all a load of red herrings, and really they are just collecting email accounts of all us electronic music geeks... so they could track us all down and KILL us with anticipatory boredom syndrome?

If a beta DAW was being tested, but had no beta testers, would it make any sound ?
