WOZ HAS MADE AN ANNOUNCEMENT! Not iPad related, but we've learned to love Woz when Woz speaks.

So awesome.
Wasn't it you, beats, who suggested that Woz get his own reality TV show?
So great. Following him around as he makes proclamations about new Apple products whilst ordering a bucket of chicken.
Then he invites Fat Val Kilmer over to his mansion and they place bets as to who can eat the pool boy faster.
I'd fucking watch it.

Because they've let Macworld slide for the past years in favor of their own events.
Computer refreshes are done quietly unless they're significant updates. In which case they get introduced in a keynote speech.
And after IOS 4.3 comes out, most teams at Apple are probably going to be assigned to 10.7.
Oh, and Intel messed up a big order which may delay the iMac refresh.

Nevermind all that nonsense. The important things right now are:
A. How is Steve doing?
B. Are we doing all in our power to speed his recovery along by sending beams of warmth and light and goodwill directly to his aura?

I think the fact that Sinbad, the comedian from the 80's, was a keynote speaker this year shows how much of a joke Macworld has become. A lot of people reported being underwhelmed this year but I'm sure part of that is 24/7/365 Internet reporting. But even with that it seemed like more exciting news about Apple related products came from CES than Macworld this year.

I try not to think about this but it's also serving as a new excuse as to why I'm unmotivated and my life is in limbo.

There's an issue with his recovery.
they had a problem connecting his new liver... it seems that the connector that the rest of the human body typically interfaces to the liver with will not work in Steve Jobs' case. it appears that one of the connections works as expected given the millions of successful transfers that have been made, but the other end is causing the issue. when the doctor suggested removing it as well and replacing it with a connection that would allow the various bits to flow freely, Jobs would have none of it - swearing that his way is "just better".
the doctor swears that it should look like this:
Steve swears that it should look like this:
When the machinery was wheeled in for the operation Jobs went on another tirade and argued that an internet connection and iTunes can manage everything, but the doctor assured him that what is needed is a
central nervous system... and a dialysis machine.

When making analogies about health it's probably not a smart comparison to suggest a Microsoft or Windows based body would be a healthier and more stable option.

perhaps. but remember, when you go see the doctor... the only apples around are generally the posters on the wall telling you to eat more fruit or that guy's in the waiting room.

How many goddamn twitter apps could the world possibly need?!?

My personal preference is 0 but the app developer community seems to think we need no less than 10 new twitter apps a week. How many different ways could you possibly serve up 144 characters of nothing?

I hate people and their need to let the world know nothing of significance at frequent intervals.
In related news I just read about a new social network that I guess is idevice only for the time being, was started by one of the brain trusts at facebook, and one of it's key points is you can only have 50 friends total, period. This actually has me kind of interested and points to what I was saying awhile back about how current social networks should have something where if you don't talk to somebody within a certain period of time then they go bye-bye off your friend list, buh bye to 400+ friends and an overinflated sense of how popular you think you are.

If you are only allowed 50 to begin with then you might actually put some effort into those people or at the very least will have to do some self reflection and house cleaning when the newest 51st friend appears on the scene.
Also read another article about the prediction of facebook going down the shitter soon because it's too big, intrusive, and people aren't having as much fun with it anymore because, holy shit, crap you put on their can get you in real world trouble with your mates, family, friends, and employer. Nobody's more shocked about that revaluation than me.
Anyhow, too many twitter apps.

There's a new iPhone app called "Where the ladies at". Basically people out and about report where the ladies are at so you know where to go.

I guess it's only in SF for the moment.
I can already tell you where the ladies are at, the gay bars.

OMG This has it all! Mac vs. Pc vs. liberal vs. conservation all tied nicely together in a sea of poor spelling and grammar.
