http://www.mapmyride.com/route/us/tx/au ... 4473384399

i would map the football game from Saturday but that would be a pain in the ass.
speaking of pains in the ass.. i had to quit early that night cause my butt was super chaffed and i couldn't ride anymore :( i stilled made an ass ton of money but i lost out on another 200-300 dollars.. which i really need.. but thats life in the world of pedicabing.
funny thing is i stilled made more then most people lol.

seriously though, the fixed gear trend did at first put me off at first. I been riding fixed since I was 15 (I'm 29 now) when I used to be a bike mechanic and built a work horse to get about on from spare track parts in the workshop. I can understand all the yelling about deep rim wheels in day glo colours etc, as it's pretty nasty, but the handlebar thing is very practical. In fact, most 'narrow bars' are same size if not wider than a standard set of drop handlbars. If you're cycling in a city all day, you don't want to be using the lower drops, you need to be sat high and upright so you can see everything around you. London ain't a race track, it's too dangerous, better to plod around than try and race your fellow cyclists.
I've cut my bars narrow for woody singletrack riding and also to maneuver around freeway columns, signs and posts on city sidewalks. my current bike is for long rides, it would kill my back.

formatk - why do hipsters put that ball of tape on the top tube, a few inches rear of the stem? this one has it

Tour De Fat!! will check it out, thanks for the heads up!

Boson - every try biking shorts with the built in chamois?? really really comfortable. I could ride for miles on a bare seatpost and not feel it.

yup i was wearing my chamois.
i didn't have any budder

i started riding at 2pm and the pain made me stop around midnight.
i should have just used mayonnaise or Crisco.. i thought about it the next day.. would i put mayonnaise on my butt for $200 lol.. yes.. so why didn't i lol.
o well i made like $480 and then $180 on sunday night too so its all good.. to bad i'm broke now.. but i have food, beer and Air Conditioning. its freaking hot in Texas.

i have a normal week this week then bamm

Sept. 19 U.T. vrs Texas Tech 7 p.m. - i'll ride from 3pm to 3am give or take an hour

Sept. 26 U.T. vrs UTEP 2:30 p.m. - prolly going to be lame but i'll prolly get out at noon ride the game then chill till it picks up down town and close the night.
other option is to skip the game and be fresh for the night when all the other pedicabs are tired.

oct 2 thru oct 4th A.C.L. fest.. this is the pedicab super bowl big money and 3 days of hard core riding i generally do about 12-14 hours a day during A.C.L. (only thing that compares to this is SXSW which i like better and the money at SXSW is usually a little better)

Oct. 10 U.T. Vrs Colorado time is TBA lets pray its not an 11 am game cause those suck ass.

its the annual 1 month of pedicab heaven (money) and hell (pain) :)

plus i'll be triing to maintain a 4 day work week through all of this because the money is really good this time of year and i want some new music/bike gear plus i need to finance post production costs for our album.. hell i need to finish writing/mixing it too

My mountain bike (specialized fsr) has my ableton 4 stickers on it.

Also my ableton laptop has some DMR stickers on it that came with my pedals.

Good way round I think, as I like to meet people into both activities :)

he got off easy.

looking for advice... I've always had weak knees, got tendinitis in high school from running hurdles in track. been biking a lot this summer wife's been running and bugging me to go with her. on Monday we went for a run, did 4 miles until my knee was bugging, first run I've done in a decade. next day I had a pretty good limp from the knee ache. I've been easy on it all week. Friday I walked maybe a mile, next next it was bugging again. today it's not feeling any better. at what point do I go to a doctor, how long should I walk this off? I've had a sleeve type wrap on it and am using Icy Hot, they keep the pain down but I don't know if this is getting better or not. any advice appreciated. haven't biked in a week, f-ing bummed out about that. it feels like I have thin or no cartilage on the inside part of the knee joint. gotta lay off the impact sports. shit.

some famous local prick hit a pedicab loaded with passengers last night. he then burned off but after some photo's were taken. turns out to be this guy that works for a local paper. apparently he is open about his hatred for cyclists and has stated how he would like to run them down.
no body was hurt in the collision.

this should get good..
it has been reported to the police, fox news, kxan, and the chronicle (the paper he works for).

that sucks
i dunno man but when it gets all sorted i recommend a 24 inch to ride with your wife while she runs (unless your short then get a 20 inch) ;)

there's only one thing to do...

get his balls.

man, I'd love to check out his anti-bike views. here in SF there was some old fart ranting that bikes cause pollution. his rational was that bikes slow down car traffic, causing them to idle longer. he wanted to remove the bike lanes. the result was us getting 40 more bike lanes in town. HA!!

Boson - funny. I go out to her races and cheer her on, it's amazing to watch thousands of people do distance running, very inspiring, in this case too inspiring. I'm gonna try to get her on a bike, it's so much more fun than running. ;)

edit - got some good advice in a PM. get it checked out sooner rather than later. thanks man. :D
