Did they ever even release an image? They got about 1/2 second of press. Why? Because it will suck ass, that's why.

lol
links or stfu.

same with Rave, that's a lie. the default apps for the iPad are the usually calendar, youtube, type of stuff.

And I'm confused on the apps thing. There's a zillion iPhone synth and controller apps already. ?

There are a lot of controls apps out there, but the small screen of the iPhone makes them pretty annoying to use...also the iPhone has no USB out so you have to set up a wireless network...also annoying...

Yes, totally agree. The small size is horrid. I gave up on all of them mainly for that reason. But ported over to the iPad? Whole new ball game.

They should have called it the "Macsee Pad"

I wonder how much blue liquid it holds compared to other pads?

I can't youtube at work, but the last time I saw video demos of the latest jazzmutant OS the objects were way more complex than just button, knob, and fader representations. The bouncing ball you can throw comes to mind. Also drawing waveforms and envelopes. There's a lot jazzmutant could bring to the table that nobody else is doing (yet).
yes, even bouncing balls. I was writing code to do stupid shit like that in 7th grade.

jazzmutant can quietly drift into oblivion. they got the ball rolling, they have nothing to offer us anymore.

nice post pants_.

Poops - yes, proof of these statements of yours. jokes are jokes but lots of us are really interested in what the whole field looks like.

Rave - nope, not yet. strictly speaking there are like 20 apps for the iFad. I guess it's a safe assumption that the iPhone apps (LOL phone and camera stuff aside) will port to the iFad. so, touchOSC on the iTouch means touchOSC on the iFad. but the rumors and assumptions are muddying the waters. show me the facts!

Oh I don't know...I'm referring to how the iPhone as a control application for MIDI/OSC is not an ideal solution...the iPad should be much better if some developer can do a Lemur clone with many more features/customization. The iPad does have a USB dongle.

"The USB and SD adapters are billed as the "Camera Connection Kit," which may mean they're sold together and may also mean their features are limited to importing photos and videos"

USB only for photo/video, so who knows if a direct connection (not via wifi) is available.

They weeped over the iPod and iPhone as well. Big wet messy pools of baby tears. lol.
LOL people cried over the iphone? Sure dude. Actually, many PC users actually BOUGHT the iphone. You could say that the way Apple handled the iphone may have turned off some potential converts in the long run though.

I dunno, I love my iphone...but it did confirm my shitty feelings towards Apple. (and no, I didnt buy first gen ;)) My final Apple purchase no doubt. Meanwhile, ill be enjoying my new Lenovo i7.

it also has Bluetooth.

I think the process for users will be similar to the iPhone, you use those long thin block connectors to connect it to everything, managed by iTunes.

thanks for the youtube Poops.

Surely they wouldnt dumb it down to that extent? A full USB controller chip is tiny, and even filling 64GB over wireless is painfully slow, and no ones knows what data rates over wireless USB will be. I guess we wait and see.

I can live with that, as long as I can keep buying the cheap Chinese plugs like I do for my Pod, and not have to pay Apple stupid money for a usb cable with proprietary connector.

Right, but for an application running on it to send data to something on my laptop, it would have to be sent via Bluetooth or Wifi. Oh well.

iPad also can be used as HD, according to macrumors...shows up as an external drive/folder.

It's less about the hardware and more about what they will allows Developers access to in the API...that's one of the hassles/problems with closed systems (for us).
