I think this isn't an unrealistic request, particularly if the same plug-in is working well in another host.

Users should and do expect that a plug-in that worked in Live X that it will work in Live X+1.

Come on Axel, i feel with you but don't give it up...! If i was you i'd go back to Live 7 if that worked properly. The "improvements" in 8 are not s o essential that you cannot miss it. Maybe they figure out the things one day, then you go back to 8.

Best,
Every single 3rd party plugin, even ones that are years old, such as some mentioned in this thread that stopped being supported by their devs?

Ableton actually endeavors to make sure this happens?

If that's the case then I'm even more impressed....

YES !I've seen this ... even the crack addicts(my students) are hating on it !!!! 8O
Yeah a guy I know has the cracked 8. Only works for 8 minutes and crash bang whollop! (not you D I feel for you) I think Ableton should work on getting a more stable cracked version out what do people think?

Also the fact the board isn't lit up with complaints about 8.1.3 seems positive no?

Well, in practice this is much more difficult of course.

Operating system changes, hardware changes, etc. can all cause plug-ins to break. But we do the best we can to keep this to a minimum.

Thread summary:

A new beta is out. It's referred to as "RC," but it's just a beta

Two or three people in this thread tested it out and had problems

Terkith used 8.1.3 with a few 3rd party plugs without any problems

SubFunk publicly quit using Ableton Live (again  )

[nis] shared a very interesting tip about making sure your plug-in buffer is always half the value of your audio buffer - this was the best reason to read this thread

A number of users took the opportunity to continue to ask for free stuff because of Live 8 bugs, and they continued to make themselves look like douche bags

Whining, whining, and more whining...

All in all, a very boring thread.

Back to the music...

Even your name is kind of hard to spell, Nebly.

It would have surprised me if this thread didn't make it to 10 pages.

"small miracle"? No, "full blown miracle" is the term of choice here.

Still running good here, just did another 2.5 hours this morning with no probs. Used EIC's Grand Piano and some of the latin percussion stuff too, everything worked fine.

You're a liar. There isn't a latin bone in your body.

So here's a positive report.

I was scared when saved as and did collect&save... in fact it was all good

This evening I will hardly test it, with plenty of frigging plugins and all.
So far so good

oh yeah I'm on Xp sp3_ Live 8 has finally given the opportunity to mac users to complain about stability [or was it when snowLeopard went out?]
Forget the last sentence, it was my feeling the pcVSmac stuff has no sense.

i've installed pretty much all of the updates here, and i've never had live crash on me. the only 3rd party stuff i have is u-he, in zebra and the uhbiks.

Personally, I pretty impressed with the way Ableton works on the issues, and in general with the software.

Thanks for pressing forward guys! Many of us appreciate what you do.
