and ... will live 8 work (current 8.2.8 crash fest here) before any plans for live 9 are dared to be mentioned?
At this stage I must have uttered the words .. 'f*ck (the bad kind) and Ableton' in the same sentence at least 10,000 times already.
According to WIKI: Word Association is a common word game involving an exchange of words that are associated together.
The words 'F*ck' and 'Ableton' are fused together in my brain at this stage.
Say no to 9.

My personal theory is that it's ready for release but nobody yet makes a computer that's powerful enough to run it.

Haha, that's a funny imagination - and real futurism!

the problem isn't that they aren't powerful. the problem is that computers that are powerful these days are running 64bit os's, and as we all know, that's the event horizon for ableton.

Come on, man!

Would you please stop to attack the main thought of this science fiction approach. - You're destructing the whole story board!

Rumours were flying at NAMM about Live 9 needing a minimum requirement of 1.21 Jiggawatts of RAM

just read the title of this thread.
here is my opinions about the latest upgrade:
http://julienbayle.net/2012/04/02/ablet ... ud-support
I cannot be happy with that, even as an ableton certified trainer.

It's kind of funny how this whole discussion is spinning around itself.
I was very wishfully waiting for Live 9 myself for a long time. But I stopped to do so some time in the last couple of month and started to work with what I have again.
Yes, there are a few things missing that really would make life with Live much easier. But I for me those aren't so essentially, that the y really could stop me from doing what I want to do.
In my eyes most of asking for new features is leaded by lack of inspiration and having the feeling, that new tools lead to new inspiration and better results. For me personally both isn't true at the end of the day, honestly. - I try to concentrate more on making music again than on expecting new toys from Ableton or anyone else.
Happy easter!
