My understanding is that it doesn't include an audio interface ... I think some of the early press reported it included one.

I think it'd be a "definite" as how nice would it be to not need a separate audio interface ...

check your sources people, there is no audio interface inside maschine studio!

I just unpacked my Maschine Studio. Is bigger than I thought but looks very nice. Will check it tomorrow or on Sunday.

Maschine Studio doesn't have a built-in soundcard, which makes sense. When NI removed the built-in soundcard for Kore 2, the reasons they gave were that most people weren’t making use of it and that transmitting lots of high-resolution control data from the hardware and audio over USB 2.0 sometimes caused conflicts. And Maschine has an even higher resolution than the Kore controllers.

You can find Maschine Studio for around the $800 mark, by the way, which is not bad at all considering the two high-res OLED color displays that essentially gives you a completely standalone workflow, not to mention all the dedicated buttons, beat-quantized jog wheel with an integrated click button and LED Ring indicator, a Master section where you can toggle between master/group/sound/cue meters and choose input source, 3 MIDI Out ports/1 MIDI In port, and two footswitch inputs.

The drum synth is kinda cool but ffs, it's been done to death. I'm not a 15 y/o "producer", I do this for my own enjoyment and I kinda like having to search for sounds so it sounds pretty one-trick-pony to me.

Gonna get it though. Just not right now.

Actually, NI did do something that is genuinely new here with its physical modeling of acoustic and electronic drums. It has 5 different drum synths in all, each with several sound engines with some pretty unique algorithms and even involving things like "ultra-modern synthesis from Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) data of analyzed and reconstructed hi-hat samples". And most importantly, they made it really easy and intuitive to tweak to get some really good sounds fast. There's not that many alternatives to this approach. Most software drum synths out there are sample-based or just subtractive/FM synthesis.

And you can use this together with samples, especially for layering. It's not one or the other.

I'm pretty excited bout the drum synth.

Anyways, like I said, I'm going to buy it, I'm just not interested in "trap". So If I can do other things with it, that's fab.

Any images of 2.0 on older model screens?

I want to know all the pros and cons before dishing out 100$. Did they change the tabs, control scheme, etc etc etc? Maybe a link to a forum with images of all that stuff?

Being on an '08 laptop, I think I'm in need of an update soon haha
