What I wanted to express is that your argument reads like the famous Monty Python skit about
what have the Romans ever done for us.
Yes if you substract all the good and defining things from the Electribe, then yes, the iPad is much better.
But then it is pretty surely also much better then all the outboard digital synth you dream of
Btw, concerning H2Onlys interest. One very convenient feature of the Electribe (and yes, probably of the iElectribe as well) is that your creations on it can be exported as an Ableton Live project, that has all the audio already saved as clips ordered into tracks and scenes for Session view

Ha. Been there. Start casually researching something, get stoked on it, buy it, wait for it to arrive, unpack it.....then face the dreaded rewire/integration and not touch it for a couple weeks.

Wow.... The whole export to + clips bit astounds me. [/seriously] That's the second one I've heard about in less than a week. My controllers all just tweak parameters of trigger notes.
Thanks MW and Tom.... Now I want to proudly collect another bit of kit for no purpose
@ aisling, who am I fooling? Just add mic... After the luxury of Hannah Grace, I should be ashamed not to languish in harmony sown that brings thought to vocal tones...

I was impressed with what I initially heard, you got skills.

nah, you do. That track is awesome. I kept feeling like I was ruining it. Still, I should dust that and my mic off.... The mic is not so proudly collecting dust for no purpose.
which is all the more sad after I got a Shure SM7b and a phatty Universal Audio Twin Finity pre amp (also collecting dust). haven't used either for anything resembling a finished track

Being a working and pro-active present parent, has resulted in much sacrifice and compromise with my artistic and musical endeavors. I have so much gear, that momentarily sparked inspiration, only to become marginalized by real life responsibility, I get it!

right there with you... [full time] single daddy. love my boy, but between him and work and hearing the same loop over and over, by the time i get to the mic i just don't give a shit anymore. mixing drains me. the muse moved out years ago. still, i've been thinking a lot about dusting off some old projects lately, so who knows...
i still rhyme in traffic

The problem with these type libraries is the gems will quickly get overused.
Won’t stop me from getting it though.

It’s unusual to want to respond to a discount offer email with “Fuck off” but I feel compelled to in this case.
When Exhale came out I got an email offering it for $179 to “loyal customers”. That’s a pathetic $20 off a $200 plugin/library.
Today I got an email informing me that killer deal is also about to expire. Oh shit, I’m going to have to track down an extra $20 if I don’t jump on this NOW!!!
And how about the idiotic timing of throwing out that threat a week before Black Friday, Cyber Monday and the rest of the (better) discount offers holiday season.
FUCK OFF.
Plus its already been out for a little over two weeks now. I'm sure all the best presets have already been used to death.
