Hi all, I'm looking for guidance on how to achieve a specificw workflow for live performances using Push 3 Standalone with a Tascam Model 12 mixer.
Essentially, I want to use the P3S in the same way I use my MPC Live 2, which is to route up to 8 channels/outputs to an interface and come out of the interface with 8 analog outputs into the Tascam Model 12. With my MPC, I set it in "audio interface mode," which allows for 32 I/Os via USB, and connect it to the Behringer UMC1820. Then, I use the analog line outs from the UMC1820 to connect to the Model 12 channels. This works perfectly.
With all the research I've done, though, it seems the UMC1820 cannot work as a bridge in this way with the P3S since the latter depends on ADAT to expand the number of I/Os (and not USB like the MPC), which cannot be routed properly, at least when it is in Standalone mode.
So, my questions are:
1) Is it indeed correct that there is no practical way for the UMC1820 to achieve this, even if I only needed to establish the routing once (with my laptop and software if that's even possible)?
2) Is it correct that the ADA8200 would work for my purpose? It seems like it would, based on my research, but I've also seen mixed feedback, including reports of noisy outputs.
3) Are there any other "value-based" options I should consider? Again, this intended workflow is only to be used in conjunction with a mixer and no analog gear for the single purpose of live "DJ-like" performing (and, importantly, without a computer). Therefore, I'm trying to keep things relatively cheap since I only need something that will achieve my singular need here: converting up to 8 channels from P3S to discrete analog channels running into the Model 12.
Most of the related discussions have been focused on input expansion, but in my case, I'm only concerned with the output side of things (e.g., I don't care about the quality or number of analog inputs).
Many thanks in advance for any advice.![]()

Thanks. I looked at the Arturia X8 OUT, too, but I wanted something rack-mountable and a bit less expensive. I wound up getting the Behringer ADA8200, and it works exactly as I hoped and expected.Arturia X8 OUT - done.
Re: Push 3 ADAT I/O recommendations?
Do audio interfaces in general with ADAT I/O work with Push, or do they specifically have to be ADAT expanders?
My Focusrite Scarlett Octopre just plugs in, for example. Which is an expander, not an audio interface.
But what about something like the new SSL 18? There are similar 1U devices from Presonus, RME, Arturia etc.
https://solidstatelogic.com/products/ssl-18
The product description includes "16 channels ADAT I/O".
I'm assuming it would need to be tethered to a computer, as it's an audio interface, but if it's plumbed into the computer and all tickety-boo, and then there's an ADAT cable running between the SSL and Push, will the SSL 'see' Push's ADAT I/O?
Which hopefully can then be routed to a DAW or the SSL's physical inputs/outputs. In the case of the SSL using SSL's 360 software.

Re: Push 3 ADAT I/O recommendations?
Does anyone have any feedback on the MOTU ultra lite mk5?
I’d like to be able to use it both in standalone (ie without needing a computer) and as a traditional interface for the laptop. Seems a good size and good spec, and I’ve heard good things about MOTU…

Ultralite mk 5 is great. I love it, but have still not yet tried it with Push 3 for bandwidth reasons, my time, not technical issues...
