Are you talkiing about something similar to cubase where you have a tempo track ? always wondered in the back of my mind what that was about so that does sound for others that could be really useful.. me I dont do that sort of stuff so not applicable but maybe it would be one day

well yeh it probably should, but they probably dont want to because then people migh texpect it to work on normal audio files - but in reality it was almost an accidental by-product of adding video, and so as it only works with video then I guess that means it doesnt do it properly per-se

but I agree - I was thinking of maknig a thread "Live 6 does Tempo maps"

Well if it really works as I described...
(even with the odd video step)
I'd say go for it.

Now THAT'S a good feature! I bought Kontakt 2 only because I needed something for working in Live and I must say I really hate NI's licensing policy. If you need to alter between more than two machines (as I do, since I teach at different studios and use both OS X and XP for my own work) you may be forced to deactivate some machines for all time - repeat: non reverseble deactivation! I gave a Logic course and needed to bring my apple lappy and since then I may never more be permitted to use Kontakt on my Centrino lappy. That's just horrible! So I'm really looking forward to using my Kontakt and Logic/EXS24 libraries with Live without having to coupe with that dreadful Kontakt 2 thing ;-)

BTW, I see that a lot of nice functions I'm still missing in Logic will come with Live 6. Very nice!

gomi since you first posted this is literally the first moment I have had to test this 8O

Excellent work ladies and gents, excellent indeed, thankyou.

Couple of very minor enquiries:
Dual monitor support?
Is the bug when dropping a sample into Impulse sliced direct from arrange page still present? (ie the slice plays but longer than it should)
Anyone testing on a non-Intel Mac dual? How's performance?

When you are using video playback in the Arrange window and you have
say 16bars looping, does the video loop along with the audio?

also can you display timecode in the timeline instead of/as well as bars?

It loops with the audio, yes. Also you can easily see the current time in min:sec:ms in the bottom of arrangement view, just like in Live 5 - but not frames, no.

-but again: this is an alpha we're talking about - these minor details are the sort of things that change sometimes.

frames would be nice, but not right away.
would be great to stick frames in eventually.

pro tools le doesn't even have frames unless you pay 1500$ for the
dv toolkit option (back in os9 LE had frames, they just saw another
way to GOUGE money from their users)

protools le is garbage anyways though heh.

i can't wait to get my hands on the 6 beta.
it's going to be a good time.

Will it import NNXT files as well? I have plenty here, from my past Reason times.

This one shows the intuitive multiple key and midi assignment functionality.
notice how multiple parameters are assigned to the same keys.
Adam,

Maybe this is a dumb (or at least dumb-sounding) question, but can one assign more than one control to the same thing? Like, let's say I have two buttons on my controller (or keys on my keyboard), and I'd like to assign both of them to the device on of an effect. Does that work?

Thanks.
